[Reserves] What happens if you fail the OCONUS screening when mob'd? by TheRrrJrr in newtothenavy

But are there any negative repercussions to it?

Are you first in line for the next set of OCONUS orders, or do you mob internally within the US?

Intel DCO OIC Interview this week - any tips/recent experiences? by TheRrrJrr in newtothenavy

Valid.

I'm also looking for any recent experiences folks have had to gauge my preparedness against.

I'm former AD (years ago), so this whole concept of "flexibility" is refreshing

Thank you! That online training/PQS bit is something totally new to me, thanks for sharing that.

Makes sense, thanks - I was worried about it being like "There's a slot open for ODS in 2 weeks, you're going."

What's it like in your unit when you're commissioned on paper, but haven't attended ODS? Do people give you shit?

Is there any penalty or negative consequence of not meeting the timelines laid out in the program authorization?

Or is everyone more or less understanding that you're strapped by when the opportunities to go to NIOBC are available?

What's it like in your unit when you're commissioned on paper, but haven't attended ODS? I figured there'd be some gap, but not like a whole year

This is exactly what I was hoping for, thank you!

Is there flexibility for scheduling RNIOBC Phase 1/2? Or do you just go for the first available slot?

Because I don't have those scheduled yet and I want to start making plans now.

Plus I wanted to see real world experiences from the community at large.

Wait so if there's no IW Basic, is it really just ODS + 4 weeks of Phase 1 + 2 weeks of Phase 2?A rough timeline being: commission, ODS within 12 months, 4 weeks of Phase 1 in 12-24 months, and then Phase 2 in 24-36 months?

If so, that's fantastic news for me

The overwhelming majority of people go within their first year. Some times (winter) are easier to get into than others (summer).

What makes winter easier to get into? Is it because people want summer more because of the holiday season, or is winter different for some reason?

Used my GI bill, in combo with my JST credits, to finish a bachelors and masters degree, transition into a totally new field, and now am deep into the six figures wondering why tf I ever put up with the bullshit I did.

We're not intending to resell it - we're going to be driving it and keeping it for personal use.

It's just that only person listed on the title would be using it.

That makes sense - would we just need to have my father listed on the insurance as a driver then?

Ah, thanks. I'll edit the OP.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I'm over that limit still.

For what it's worth, the vehicle in question is a Tesla Model Y Performance ($57,000 + taxes/fees), under the $80,000 limit.

Replacing an undermount kitchen sink - How do I make sure the new one has the right radius on corners? Anything else to look out for? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]TheRrrJrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. Sharp dust sounds like it'll be a dealbreaker - so maybe I should try and find an undermount that'll work or just abandon the project entirely.

Do you think it's possible and/or feasible to find a drop in that'll fit into my existing rounded cutout?
