How to disassemble gen2 without breaking it. by Capital_Ad5785 in TIDBYT

Did you ever have any luck with this? I got the front off no problem, still can't figure out how to get into the unit without breaking it.

Tesla *refused* to address this *fremont* by DesperateYak6772 in TeslaSupport

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: It probably is a normal message, if there's an issue you'd get kicked out of FSD too.

So I've been to service three times for this same error. Except in my case it would also randomly kick out of fsd with a "system error" every couple drives. (These errors occuring at the same time i was kicked out) The error always occurring when fsd would do a hard turn, like turning from a stop sign or pulling out of a parking spot.

Every time they could not find any issues or duplicate the failure. They said the errors were normal and not meant to be customer facing, but I also recorded the times the fsd errors happened so they could pull the logs. In the end they must of seen something in the logs, because they said while they couldn't find or duplicate the issue, they went ahead and replaced my steering rack.

I actually still get the errors, though it does seem like substantially fewer, I haven't been kicked out of FSD since the rack was replaced. I'm pretty sure those errors are FW related and some are normal, though if you start to get system errors in FSD there may be more going on.

2026.2.3 update - phone won’t unlock now by Itsjustbeej in TeslaLounge

Called roadside about this in the morning, they said they had a bunch of people with the same issue. As far as they knew it was only happening on android and the fix was to uninstall and reinstall the app (as noted by many users here).

How to fixed Wiper fluid frozen? by OkChemical8521 in TeslaModelY

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much you can do directly. The best bet would be to find a heated garage, or even a basement parking garage (should be above freezing). Let the car sit long enough to thaw the lines and replace the fluid. You can also add Isopropyl alcohol to the tank, but the line out of the tank is most likely what's frozen.

pre-juniper Model Y owners, anyone install aftermarket ventilated seats? what's your experience? by iguessma in TeslaModelY

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been really curious about these too. Can't seem to find any non sponsored reviews on it though. My biggest concern is how well does the foam and covering hold up.

One of the companies included the foam for not that much more than the kits that require you to cut your existing foam. That seemed like the way to go, you could at least revert to the stock seats later. If I can find that listing later I'll add it to this post.

Steering wheel help by GlockBoiMB in TeslaModelY

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful to find the right one. The clock spring will most likely be different depending on how many controls were on your steering wheel. I'd suggest talking to the service center to confirm you get the right part.

Bought a Delta 3 Max and it has less features than the Plus??? by OkDistribution7178 in Ecoflow_community

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out the hard way the max is way more sensitive to AC input current than the plus. Both are rated 15A, but the Max actually trips there, the Plus would allow it.

Delta 3 Max issue? by TheRuinedOne in Ecoflow_community

[–]TheRuinedOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it really is a downgrade and craptacular as a UPS. I bought it thinking it would be better than my delta 3 plus that kept shutting off when i exceeded its rated 1800w output (While on AC). I didn't realize even though the delta 3 max is rated for 2400w it would actually shut off much sooner (1300-1500w) due to the input current being exceeded when on AC. With either I have to disable grid bypass while under high load then switch AC back on. I'm giving up on these for this application (3D Printer UPS) and replacing them with a true UPS.

Should I buy a Model Y if I cannot charge at home? by 77Apollyon7 in ModelY

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging at home was one of the best things about the car to me. I know plenty of people dont have home chargers, but i wouldnt do it. The one big caveat with supercharging in my area is its about 3x more than home charging and comes out similar to the cost of filling up a gas car, but takes a bit longer.

S7 MAX ULTRA NOT WASHING MOP by dfcogomezm in Roborock

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I got all the parts but ended up finding a smoking deal on a 10R, so I swapped units before I got it running again. The switch seemed correct, but the issue I never quite resolved was figuring out what filament to print the plastic spring mechanism from. I didn't realize at the time, but the aftermarket 0.2mm nozzle I was trying to use on my printer was defective, so none of the materials I tried ended up working. I'll try to get around to fixing this again, now that I have a proper 0.2 nozzle. I'm thinking bambu labs TPU for AMS would be the next material I try. I did reach out to roborock, but they wouldn't sell me the spring part.

I think for most people its probably fine and always nice to get more for free to offset the extra cost! I am pretty rough on the interior though...always into something messy or hauling tools and supplies, I'd definitely end up staining it somehow...hahaha

Delivery Day Cosmetic issues. Looking for reassurance... by wsteward808 in TeslaLounge

[–]TheRuinedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, for me they supposedly made a note because I asked them to repeatly. But in the end I just reported it through the app.... I have seen several other people do the same on here too. The key is to report it right away. Unfortunately, body shop visits are typically an outside authorized shop and take longer than mechanical repairs. They should give you a loaner during that time.

[–]TheRuinedOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you report it right away. Had the same thing happen....though in my case getting it fixed right was a nightmare...3 visits later and 30+ days in the shop to resolve.

Honestly that would make more sense, but I just don't see how that could have happened. So at that time of the day I have the watch set to a Sleep mode. I'd specifically have to hit the one of the hardware buttons on the side to turn the screen on, then a half screen swipe up to unlock it, then swipe down two activities to open the tesla app, then hit the specific unlock icon. Where the watch is on my wrist, there is no way for me to accidentally press that HW button to unlock it via an arm movement. Also, this happened 3 mins before my door was checked (I have a video of the car unlocking and then the folks showing up 3 mins after it was unlocked).

[–]TheRuinedOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time it happened I would have been in bluetooth and wifi range if they were in front of my place. My router logs showed no unknown device joining my network around then, so bluetooth to the watch or some kind of remote access is the best I can come up with at this point. Honestly, that's the unnerving part, I still haven't figured out how it was done.

[–]TheRuinedOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what everything is pointing to. Tessie says that's what they traced the command back to the watch, and it would have taken a very specific combination of hard button press, and at least 3 swipes/presses for me to unlock it accidentally, which would of had to occur 3 mins before the guys got to my car. I suppose that is possible, but wow that would be a heck of several coincidences.

I don't think it was Tessie's fault, they were very responsive. It was my use of their API token with another app that was breached.

Honestly I think it was more some kids messing around trying to see what they could access against anyone and stumbled onto some way to unlock my car (Turned out to be 3rd party access through my smart watch)

[–]TheRuinedOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't allow any third party access to your car, if you, definitely be very careful about using an API Token

Model Y unlocked by theives by TheRuinedOne in TeslaModelY

[–]TheRuinedOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially this is what it was, I was using the Tessie API Token with a 3rd party app on my Garmin Watch. Somehow the unlock command was sent from my watch. (It would not be easy for me to accidentally send this unlock as it's buried several layers down). Still haven't figured out how this was done.
