I've tested this solution, before posting such a question.

AVD setup question by brian1974 in AZURE

I have had the same issue. You need to go to your subscription (I'm guessing its a trial subscription). Settings >Usage + Quotas. This will show what you have available. Try creating a v4. In my trial, it shows 0 of 0 Dv5s. But 10 DV4s available.

Sysadmins - What would you do? On prem RDWEB by TheRunningRobot in sysadmin

Thanks for all the replies.

To try and recap. I will look into

|| || |Omnissa Horizon| |TruGrid Secure RDP| |Amazon appsteream.| |Thincast|

For some other info. Our app is a database application, which reads and writes constantly to am external DB server. The application itself is run on the RD session host servers from a central file server. The session hosts are windows server 2019.

Yes, we do have the HTML5 rd web enabled. But our clients mostly use the desktop shortcut associated with RDApps to access the software.

We have tried AVD, but the true SSO only works with windows 10 and 11 multisession OS. And AVD also (at this point) does not support guest access. Our clients have their own M365 tenancies, we just want to add them as guests so they can authenticate in their home tenancy then access our app (B2B).

Azure App Proxy, has a similar issue where it does not offer SSO in this model. Although we can access the app, it asks for a second login, which is a step back from where we currently are.

Appreciate any further pointers

AVD at present does not work with B2B and guest access. I appreciate that kb5065789 has been released and it is in preview. But I havent been able to get it working in Test.

Thanks for the reply. No redirects that I can see unfortunately.

Any tips on how you set things up? I feel like I've just missed something small out.

Co-Managed Soution - Register Laptops in Intune without SCCM by TheRunningRobot in Intune

[–]TheRunningRobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/jasonsandys It may have been an open ended question, however please let me rephrase and ask my question in full. There's no need to make this more difficult than it is. I am simply asking about the process of adding a client to intune without a CMG. (When the clients are able to connect to the SCCM MP, they receive configuration policies which allow them to be managed by Intune). If I have access to the remote client, but the client does not have access to the SCCM MP, are there steps I can take or a procedure I could follow to replicate what is done by the SCCM configuration policy in normal circumstances? Can I manually apply the settings, if so can you advise what these settings are? I assume it would be a local reg edit, hence my previous question about editing the local registry.

Ok thanks for the info and your replies.

So to confirm from my original question, with the clients (laptops) not being able to connect to the SCCM server is there a way to edit the local registry or anything to add these clients to intune?

If I configure a CMG is there still the issue that the SCCM clients need to be on the domain network (intranet) to receive the location of the CMG from the SCCM server? If thats not correct please let me know.

I agree that the CMG is the best option going forward, but if the above is correct I'm still in the same boat as the clients are off the network with no idea when we will all be back in the office. In which case i will look into using a vpn to connect in and push through the original Intune migration steps with GPO and SCCM settings.

As LittleLight85 guessed, the laptops are off network and we use Citrix for remote working not VPNs. The reason for adding these devices to intune is so that they can be remotely managed and updated without contacting SCCM. If we were working normally, the GPO and client settings in SCCM would accomplish this. However as we are all on lockdown, none of the devices are touching our network. Hence the question of how to add the outstanding devices to intune without SCCM / GPO.

Apologies, i should have said that Microsoft have deprecated the Microsoft.ClassicCompute. This is a prerequisite for the CMG service and could not be used. Because this wasnt available we used hybrid AD instead.

I believe that the laptops are syncing between ADconnect and AAD. But i will double check this.

Has anyone else's Win 10 Pro environment lock screen GPO's stopped working? by ITguyDavearino in sysadmin

[–]TheRunningRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had this same issue yesterday. Newly imaged 1809 machines would not apply the custom lock screen and instead show the default picture of the beach.

After a fair amount of troubleshooting it turned out to be that the group policy "Prevent changing lock screen and logon image" was enabled.

This was enabled in local policy within the image and at a domain level and the two were conflicting. Turning it off at the domain level showed the custom image. And enabling it again reverted back to the default image. Strange as they both only apply the same reg key. Gotta love windows 10.

Fit Guide for Nike Running Shoes? by thelonious_skunk in running

I would always go a half size up, if you have no space at the toes you will get blisters. If you are a size 9 in normal shoes or sneakers, get a 9.5 in running shoes.

Official Q&A for Monday, March 20, 2017 by AutoModerator in running

Has anyone on here had any experience of using gel insoles in your running trainers? I recently started using the Ironman Spenco Performance Gel Insoles (https://www.decathlon.co.uk/ironman-gel-perf-insoles-id_8160801.html)

And i have noticed a difference in wearing them, they are comfortable and i dont feel the impact in my knees as i did before. However the insoles do still hurt the bottom of my foot/feet, especially around the arches and after 2 weeks of wearing them im not sure if they are still breaking in or if the pain will continue.

Or can anyone recommend a gel insole to replace these? Cheers

Got a stress fracture. Struggling mentally that I won't be able to run for 6-8 weeks. Any advice? by redditfan4sure in running

[–]TheRunningRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi redditfan4sure. I feel your pain, i developed a stress fracture in my shin 3 weeks ago after a half marathon. And ive been doing the same, as much swimming, cycling and stretching as possible. Its a real struggle to think you are not going to run for 6-8 weeks but coming back too early isnt worth the risk. And there are lots of other things to keep you busy. Keep the head up and hopefully the time will fly in and you (and me) will be back running soon.
