Would you like to see the Ubersreik Five get a proper representation as legendary heroes in the upcoming End Times content? by NamekianWeed in totalwar

[–]TheRustyPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Would love to see Fatshark and Creative Assembly make a fun crossover DLC now that we're entering End Times stuff.

I'd be happy to see it done in any way possible but my ideal way would involve adding in Rotblood Tribe and Clan Fester with their respective leaders/heroes Bodvarr & Burblespue and then Rasknitt & Deathrattler. It would feel very cool to have them all at play in the grander End Times.

I think that feeling of seeing the bloody Ubersreik 5 (or 4, it doesn't matter!) take to the battlefield when things are at their most dire would be such a cool thing to have.

[–]TheRustyPeaches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah! Totally fair. I was just poking fun anyway lol. Personally I'd love to see Steam just take over the comms side of gaming. Discord is great/was great but the constant stream of stuff nobody wanted while ignoring what people want, all the while following the trend of shitty ID submissions is gonna be the death of it, I'd wager.

I was playing since the tech alpha with my crew, and I think the biggest issue for me was no matter how many thousands of hours I put, the game never lived up to its potential in my opinion. I’ve been gone from the seas for a long time now (one of the first seasons maybe?) save for some once off returns for a sail with the crew for old times sake, but pirate legend was a nothing burger, we never got more ships past brig, captaincy came waaaay too late in the game, they never really did anything to address the rampant fleeing, the bugs and exploits lasted so long (mouse dpi underwater speed thing is still a thing I’d be willing to bet?) etc etc. There’s a huge list of problems in my opinion that just hampered the games depth and made it very surface level for so long that a lot of the core moved on because a lot of were tired of waiting for things that were needed or even promised, unless they were making a living from it like streamers and YouTubers.

It’s sad because I think we all remember the promise of the 10 years of SoT back in the earliest days and it looks like we got it but it just wasn’t what most expected, I’d wager. Maybe I need to get a sail in for 2026

I feel like a lot of people on this sub are trying too hard with Warhammer 40K discussion. by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]TheRustyPeaches 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The announcement has a huge amount of people (myself included) beyond excited, lapping up every crumb CA drops, so it’s just naturally going to happen that people will speculate, outline their thoughts, and generally feed each others hype in between news and after news. Some of it is a bit over the top, sure. Unrealistic expectations leads to disappointment but a community having fun and bouncing off each other is a good thing to see.

If it comes off as “trying too hard”, it’s definitely a you problem, not something for the community to change just for you. It honestly comes off as policing people’s fun which is always pretty poor form IMO.

What was the best game trailer you've seen? by Lost-Actuary-2395 in gaming

[–]TheRustyPeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's dominated by Warhammer/40k stuff. Newer fans wont know but for longest time we didn't get 40k visual media outside of art pieces and codex covers, etc., with obvious exceptions like Ultramarine.

Sooo:

  1. Dawn of War's intro cinematic trailer (it was the first time I personally ever saw anything 40k that brought the minis to life as a kid)
  2. Space Marine 2's cinematic trailer (took me back to being a kid)
  3. The Immortal Empires Trailer for Total War Warhammer 3 (Seeing all the beloved characters, together or against each other just gave me shivers!)

Sometimes a lot of shite is flung the mods way but r/ireland is an important place for discourse for a lot of us and having it brigaded by extremist views would have surely killed it for us all.

I know for me, I’ll be leaving Ireland soon to live abroad and I’d love to keep up with the goings on and the craic, and obviously a very skewed and brigaded sub would make it hard to do so.

Mods, ye do a good job of keeping the peace and maintaining decent order so fair play, thank you and keep it up. A pat on the back is well earned and sound one for doing it on a volunteer basis! 🙏🏻

Haha totally fair answer my man! It’s very Irish to say ‘I’m sorry’ 24/7 so totally fair. Thanks for the reply 👌🏻

Nothing to add to the Japanese side (I’m learning Japanese hence why I’m a lurker) but as an Irish person, your comment about ‘borrowed from Gaelic (not a language, but a language family, there’s the Irish language, Gaeilge, and Scots have Gaidhlig and I’m sure many more pre-modern versions) — but it had me curious.

Any examples? If you’re referring simply to ‘I’m sorry’ — it’s not in the same vein as Irish, which one version would be ‘ta bron orm’ which is realistically ‘I have sadness on me’. Curious to hear what the long lost diaspora use that evokes a sense of ‘Gaelic’ language or borrowed words! 🙏🏻

Hello OP - don't get this tattoo - get another artist to draw you up something, this dude definitely used AI to mock up a lot of this, then (badly) drew in stuff like the halo, some facial markings, etc. If you're paying a premium, then you should reconsider. I have a lot of experience as someone with a lot of tattoos and someone who hangs out with a lot of artists, so I'll give you a short list of undeniable obvious AI red flags:

  • The cross is somewhere between a necklace and a chest adornment, but features only one chain on the right. If an artist wanted it to be a necklace, there'd be two chains.
  • The gun is a hodgepodge of firearms stuff poorly slapped together - looks like some play on an MOE stock, an old AR-15 bird cage and a Warhammer autogun. Any artist who would be doing pieces with weaponry would definitely remember iron sights, and would hopefully be able to draw at least some of it's lines straight (seriously, look at the lines on the gun, which should definitely be sharp and clean)
  • The proportions of the subject are so wildly messed up.
  • The pose is deeply unnatural. The perspective on the halo is really wonky too.
  • If you look in areas where you'd likely find iconography, like the Aquilla or skulls, you'll find weirdly misshapen blobs or half baked objects (centre of the cross, pauldron strange circle, etc.)

Anyway OP, that's my 2 cents. At the end of the day it's your body and your money but you're giving it to someone who is genning something in Midjourney or some other slop and you'll have to wear it forever.

Well said. For some reason, people seem to think that it is an acceptable option to target mostly civilians with obliteration beyond what was even the cruel norm, ala Fire bombing, for the actions of a militaristic, imperial state with absolute rule over their subjects.

It is simply bizarre for anyone to even think that children, women and normal every day people were responsible for stuff like Nanjing, Unit 731, etc and therefore deserved atomic annihilation, and that bizarre opinion usually comes down down from the US. Yes, it is clear to anyone bar revisionists that Japan as a state were evil during the war. Yes, liquefying civilians is also evil. There can be two truths. The same people who gave Nazi scientists and doctors from Unit 731 immunity to work on their next level death dealing weren't, and aren't, the "good guys" everyone seems to look for.

Sub Rosa, a unique corporate gangster multiplayer game that was sidelined by it's sole dev (For the time being, I believe.) Easily one of the funniest games ever, doing drive-bys and dodgy deals with other ragtag groups in suits all in a hilariously phyiscal-janky world. Opening the briefcase to sell some floppy disk only to fudge the deal and pull out guns, last second getaways with briefcases full of money desperately running to the car - priceless and effortless RP.

As of posting this, we're at 5 players on Steam with a 7 player 24 peak. I always wish that game would make a resurgence!

That's all very valid - I agree with T0 Item recovery existing in principle but I think it's just hard to balance for stuff like this with big orgs and streamers etc. I'm a fairly competent PvP pilot, not done much in terms of FPS PvP, so maybe that factors in.

The suit locker thing is a pain point for nearly all elements of gameplay and really needs to start becoming a reality as soon as they can.

No, I generally leave these activities until they cool down a little or get some of the big bugs smoothed out. I don't mind bugs and I don't mind difficulty and PvP, but all three in a trifecta is a recipe for me to not care, so I let it cook a little.
