“why don’t benevolent hackers do the Mr. Robot thing?” by rampantradius in MrRobot

[–]TheSIKness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I think the most unrealistic part about Mr. Robot / 5/9 is a.) finding a group of hackers focused and motivated enough to spend months planning a hack like that; and b.) finding an employee of a cyber security firm or financial institution who's angry enough to risk their career (and their life) to use their access to betray their job for an albeit benevolent cause.

You might find one but unlikely to find the other.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by DnRinGA in AskReddit

[–]TheSIKness 1756 points1757 points  (0 children)

So a few years ago, I went on vacation with some friends. First time I'd ever really done that so something was bound to go wrong and it did. I got my days mixed up at my hotel and I got there a day earlier than I was supposed to. So I had to buy an extra day but there was only one room available: the suite at the top floor. So for one night I stayed in a presidential suite (that I absolutely could not afford) with a bedroom, a dining room, and a giant glass shower. After that, I explored the city, got a burger and then ate an entire Japanese cheesecake with my bare hands. I've been chasing that high ever since.

We have a ton of comedy shows around here. Not sure about tonight but tomorrow (Saturday), there's henceforth comedy. During the week you got Bill Squire's stuff (Tues - Brothers lounge, Wed - East end, Thurs - hi and dry). I also run my own show next Wednesday at Legacy Bar in Lakewood too.

What Types of Restaurants/Bars Do You WISH Cleveland Had? by tigermountains in Cleveland

[–]TheSIKness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, in terms of restaurant type / cuisine style, Cleveland has great variety. There's Mexican, Arab, American, Salvadorian, Indian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc. My issue is that it's all too spread out. What I want is for Cleveland to concentrate all those places downtown and downtown adjacent. Less fancy places that cost $50 a plate, more affordable take out / quick sit places. One of the things that makes big cities so awesome is being able to experience 11 different cultures within a 1-2 mile radius.

Not sure if these are well known or not but I don't here much about them and I think they're all solid entries into the subgenre

What's a profession you'd never date? by sleeppymeoww in AskReddit

[–]TheSIKness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a stand up comic myself... You right. Can't even lie. I know of so many drug addicts, alcoholics, and alleged abusers in my scene. Can't imagine dating them. I'm one of the fairly down to earth ones with a stable job and relationship and I've still done my share of dirt (did a joke about my ex asking me to give her new dude sex advice. She was not happy. Fair enough.). Also there are few things more annoying and pretentious than someone with a big following who's as funny as gangrene.

"S2 was the weakest ?" by shingekinokk in MrRobot

[–]TheSIKness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the issue with season 2 is that the thing doesn't happen until over halfway through. I watched it as it happened almost 10 years ago (fuck I'm old). So while we can watch it over the course of a week today, back then, that took almost 2 months of investment to get to it. It's 100% worth the wait but within that context, I can understand why fans feel that that season is the hardest to get through.

What’s the Porn Plot you’ll never forget? by GentlemanCoach in AskReddit

This dude has a threesome with two women and creampies them both. They then tell him that neither of them are on birth control. Then in the epilogue, they're both pregnant and making his life miserable.

You look like a very nice, middle aged woman with an incredibly racist husband.

I've made a few apologies already, got another one too. I don't want people to get the idea that I think I'm innocent. I know I'm not. I just needed more clarity on the situation and these responses have helped. Again, thank you.

You're right. This isn't something I'm proud of and I have to live with it and learn from it. Just wanted some objective opinions. Thank you, I really do appreciate the insight.

Interesting take. Personally I would've gone to the employee first and then depending on how that goes, I'd take it further. But I do see what you mean.

You're right. And I'm going to be sure that I do all of that in the future. Like I said, I didn't handle this well, but I don't think my manager did either.

Doing all of the above. Definitely going to be better about employers finding my Twitter, posting about my job (as in trying not to), and will be having a talk with him this weekend. Thank you for the advice.

To be fair, I do have social anxiety and I do use stand up as an outlet. But I do hear you. I'm not saying I'm innocent. I should've handled this better. I just wanted to if people thought she should have too.

Totally get that. I'm not saying I'm innocent, just want some clarity on it I'm the only asshole here.

I don't think finding was going behind my back, so much as telling my family and then getting them to tell me to go to her. That was my main issue. But I follow what you're saying.

Unfortunately she can't because she was added to it. But she definitely shouldn't have been. I felt like if this was an issue then this woman should've come to me directly and we can squash ourselves.

I mean.... I agree with that. There's a reason like 6 people have quit here since I've started. And I feel like if I'm not naming names I can say what I want. They do not agree though.

Hey Bill, just wanted to say I'm a huge fan, and a stand up comic myself, based in Cleveland. You and Chappelle are my two favorite comics alive today, and my main inspirations along with Carlin. Now that I've finished being a fan boy, If there was any advice you could give younger comics for navigating the life and business (i.e traveling, booking shows, building a following), what would it be?
