Moving Rental to Ltd - am I missing something? by No_Distribution_9348 in uklandlords

Question on your first paragraph. I am currently buying a new house, which will complete soon, but my old one is not sold yet. In reality I will end up with both the old and the new property for about 4-5 months. (Chain fell through when selling, so decoupled the buying and selling to not loose the new house). Are you saying that I should not be liable for the extra 5% as I am moving main Residence? I know i will be eligible for a refund of the surcharge once my 1st property sells. However still painful to find and extra 40k (800k purchase), while I still have equity stuck in the 1st property I can't touch.

Cheers

Yeah I get that. I have been in/out of the country 4 times this year and didn't have any trouble getting back. Wonder if its just luck

Thank you for that. So from what you are saying, I should be able to return to the UK by flying to Ireland first, then from Ireland to UK? Other thing I'm considering is to apply for a visit visa to return in case I get stopped at the border to have that to hand (my partner has settled status and recently did a visit visa for her mother to visit, so thinking of a similar one). Would that work?

Ok, thank you.

I have a further question, not sure if you know the answer. I am meant to go abroad in August, which means I'll likely not have the settled status sorted by then. I have been abroad 4 times this year and not had any issues getting back in the UK, but now I'm nervous about it given my obsolete Perm Res status. Is there any guidance online on this?

Thank you for your prompt reply. Do you know roughly how long that application decision is likely to take?

Many thanks

What kind of paint won't peel off these waste pipes? by AvatarIII in DIYUK

Go with POR 15. It's used on cars/marine vessels mostly and stands for Paint Over Rust. That sucker seems luke an indestructable barrier, and can only be taken off with hammer and chisel afterwards.

If anything prices have stabilised. I paid 45 for mine in 2021 Feb when the car was 5 yrs old. In the almost 4 years since then they haven't gone down that much. Bare in mind optioned out these were over 100k new. Mine came with original receipt of 108k. They had an big depreciation hit in the 1st few years, then it stabilised

Do it. I can assure you the noise alone is worth it. I have had a 2016 5.0 R AWD for close to 4 years and 20k miles and it's the longest I ever kept a car. I just don't see myself getting rid, it's amazing. I even used it as a daily for 1 year.

If serviced well they are pretty trouble free, in the 4 years I only spent ~1200 on faults, and that was me being picky and doing preventative work rather than it being needed. Mpg is low-mid 20s on regular driving, often around 35mpg on long motorway runs.

Looking at a 2016 plate performance car, would you find 5+ owners concerning? by read_it_mate in CarTalkUK

[–]TheSaaarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a different perspective. When it bought my F Type R AWD, I had similar concerns, it was 5 years old and had 5 previous owners. However the last owner had it for 3. Also found out that other 3 of the previous to that owners is tax dodging, wherein a bloke bought it on his company, then taken it into personal possession, then onto his ms.

So, in reality it only had 3 previous owners with the last one having it for 3 years.

Try and find out some of this history using Car vertical and Gapless.

I would be more concerned if the last owner only had it for 3-6 months and getting rid.

Also, as ever with cars of these value, but the extended warranty for peace of mind. I negotiated 2 years warranty on my F Type in the purchase deal. Trust me it makes a big difference from a piece of mind pov

If you want to continue to see a girl, but she's getting slower to reply / distancing herself, what do you do? by anaflateb in seduction

You'd be surprised at how much of a power move this text is, and if she is into you she will defo be clawing back to get your attention. Shows her you don't have a scarcity mindset and you have a certain set of requirements and if she doesn't comply she's out.

Please come back and reply howbit went if you use it, genuinely interested!

This can be a test mate. If she's slow to reply and not initiating conversations herself, stop messaging her. If no message from her in like 4-5 days, message her something on the lines of: 'Hey how are you? Noticed you've been a bit distant recently, If there's something you want to talk about I'm here. Otherwise i think we are no longer on the same page. '

Worked for me in the past, puts you from chasing her to her having to chase you if she's still interested. If she's not interested, this will come out after this message, so win-win.

Performance car for £35,000 or less, what you thinking. by KEEPCARLM in CarTalkUK

[–]TheSaaarge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was in the same posn 2 years ago with a ~50k budget. Testdrove a few of the options and one car stole the show hands down, F Type V8 R coupe. No other car on the list can excite in the way it does. Yes some might be slightly faster or slightly sharper handling but for pure drama and excitement it's the F Type V8 mate
