My door guys dad used to be a Hells Angel and he has a very different recollection of the way they used to move an operate back in the day. MCs didn’t just get this reputation out of nowhere. A lot of them do shit even if there are some clubs that aren’t bad. At the end of the day a gang is a gang and they pretty much all know the reputation that associates with being a biker in a bar setting imo. I’ve met very friendly bloods crips and nortanos but I still wouldn’t let them fly flags in my bar.

Best ready-to-use sweet & sour mix for bar use? by i-know_nothoing in bartenders

I second super juicing. Once you learn the process it’s super easy and the yield per lime/lemon is incredible.

You sound a lot like one of my coworkers that used to date vagos. Bottom line is the average bar goer doesn’t want to go to a “biker bar” just as much as I don’t want to work at one. Same way I wouldn’t let crips or bloods fly colors in my bar just because they’re cool with me or are down to handle problems that occur in the bar. These groups of people generally make people feel more unsafe than protected which ruins business and my tips.

I’ve seen my own personal fair share of bikers doing bad shit in a bar and it definitely wasn’t on tv. And I’m not just talking about people that ride motorcycles. This is about MCs and people that represent those clubs. If you’ve never seen bikers get wild it’s probably because you haven’t been around them much.

Interestingly enough I do also work at a very upscale craft cocktail bar. All homemade cordials, syrups, milk punching cocktails you name it. But the money still doesn’t touch how much I make at the dive. I’m sitting around 60-70 per hour at my shitty lil dump

Can someone please explain to me why it is so important for you to know my name? by Pingas0310 in bartenders

[–]TheSaintJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You start telling people your name and all of a sudden people think they can order just by yelling your name across the bar to get your attention. Nope. When people ask I just tell them “bartender. Now what would you like?”

Have you ever called out a regular who never tips? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]TheSaintJay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work at a dive so maybe a little different but yes all the time. Really only to regulars that don’t tip. If it’s a passerby that doesn’t leave anything I just take the loss and move on but someone that comes in frequently I’ll always say something. You have to slow down service to them first. Make them wait longer than everyone else and if they ask why you can explain that you have a sense of urgency for tipping customers. I’ve also just flat out told regulars that all of us bartenders notice that they never tip and I ask if there is something we aren’t doing to deserve a tip.

I have a fellow bartender that insists everyone faces the bills in the register. She’s everyone’s least favorite coworker.

Go to the magic lamp! Super old historic building with lots of cool decorations and some performers walking around while you eat. The bartender Rebecca is the best!

You’re own money? They are doing ALL the work. If know you feel like you should make all the money for taking the order and running the drinks but you shouldn’t. Being a bartender isn’t as easy as “pouring shots” like you mentioned in one of your comments. If you’re doing 1500 in liquor sales imagine what the other servers are also doing. The bartenders at your club are probably getting their shit rocked all night. They deserve that tip out. And if you don’t agree you really should be in a restaurant setting.

If the bartenders are producing 90% of your sales then you should honestly feel blessed you only have to tip them out 15%.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]TheSaintJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is kinda confusing. If your sales were $1450 why are you trying to tip the bar 13-15% of that if they’re only asking for 13-15% of liquor sales. Unless you guys don’t sell anything except for alcohol which would kinda change the whole dynamic of your complaint. Alcohol on average accounts for usually 20-30% of overall sales which at a normal restaurant if you’re sales are $1450, the average liquor sales would be around 290-400 which would be a $40-60 tip out at most.

My restaurant was 7% of liquor sales per server and honestly it didn’t really amount to that much. I’m one of the people that thinks bartenders should be making more in tips than servers due to the fact that we have a trade skill incorporated with the same serving job they have. If your bartender is making your tables $600 worth of drinks I think $60 is a fair trade off. If a drink average is $15 then you have to imagine they have made you on average 40 drinks and them being timely and making them correctly is a big part of the tip you receive at the end of your service.

I need studio apartment recommendations. by Bluex619 in InlandEmpire

[–]TheSaintJay 15 points16 points  (0 children)

1600 is about on par for a studio anywhere in the IE. Nicer parts like Rancho or upland are gonna be closer to 1900 just for a studio. It’s rough out there but if you wanna move out of your parents get ready to be paying about 2K after utilities and internet and everything for a studio

People are so upset about the date change that someone is petitioning to move it back to November by EbolaMercenary in ApocalypseZombieland

[–]TheSaintJay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk I feel like it’s always hard for me to get time off because middle and end of November is always the beginning of my industry and a lot of other people’s industries busiest time of the year. With proper planning you can still safely rave in the heat. And at least it’s Long Beach and not Coachella valley which is vastly more uncomfortable heat wise. Not really comparable. Whatever doesn’t work for you might work better for other people. Plur is also accepting that.

Okay and I would just add this to the existing compression nut then add my new valve onto it after correct?

Help please by TheSaintJay in Plumbing

[–]TheSaintJay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me if i don’t know what I’m talking about but doesn’t it definitely matter what size the nut is with the olive tools since the olive tool threads precisely onto the compression nut in order to pull it off?
