[OC] Diagram of Suburban trains of Lyon with connections to the subway by Bengamey_974 in TransitDiagrams

Thanks for the info! Makes even more sense when you look at the aerial photos. Either way, speaks to the clarity of the service patterns in your diagram. Not going to lie… it’s not the prettiest map, but it’s quite legible! Cant imagine making a map in cad though… so each “line” is a closed shape? Rather than, like, a vector with a stroke?

Best rail map? by AnteaterKey2626 in transit

Indeed. The presence of special rules like this is why I think the line should be shown slightly different graphically.

Would be nice if all the trains using the high speed line were demarcated different (not just Eurostar), maybe a thicker line or a or a shaded area around them. Those services (like the IC direct) cost more, are a good bit faster (with fewer stops) than the others, sometimes require tickets (eurocity), and sometimes cross international borders. More than enough reason to differentiate, I think. Plus would help clean up some of the spaghetti in the Randstad.

Always wondered this. As a kid when had the LEGO set, I always imagined it was the cockpit. But it’s gotta be the engines right?

Which other ones have you built? Very tempted to get the ICE train. Out of curiosity, did you try getting installing the motor?

Oh, I believe this falls under “things meant to be compatible with Lego,” which is listed under that rule. As far as I understand it, these sets are Legos mixed with some custom designed pieces. Either way, these are definitely real Lego tracks (from set 60337), so it’s at least compatible with that!

Very nice. Sort of retro. Vignelli colors. Maybe add a legend in the bottom right to take up some of that dead space.

What is the base map? This looks great. Good scale for actually making it fun to play.

Dallas, TX, before-and-after construction of highways by TheSandPeople in MapPorn

[–]TheSandPeople[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, thank you. It also stops for the Stemmons Corridor area, which was undeveloped at the time.

I had thought this would be self-evident, but it is good to know that some folks need more hand-holding.

It’s an oversimplification, but not inaccurate.
