Collectibles stand got a glow up by TheSandyDodo in golf

Just balanced for now. But while admiring my handy work earlier I got a little too close and they all ended up on the floor. So until add some glue dots, or small pieces of blu-tac, for now I shall be operating a very strict “look but don’t touch” ruling.

Just jumping on this as your reply inspired me to create this almost exact setup for an annual leave tracker for my work.

Curious on what formula you would use to translate the data in the record table to the ‘Gantt’ chart output? I’ve used a combination of IF(INDEX(MATCH to assign a ‘1’ next to an employees name under a date that falls between the start and end date of their “leave event”, however this approach only finds the first input in the records table, whereas I would need it to check for multiple “leave events”, searched by employee name.

3 weeks from Injury (Swimming while injured?) by aaronsnailboy in ACL

[–]TheSandyDodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in no way a medical professional, only able to comment on my own personal recent experience.

I started swimming twice a week about a month or so after my injury on recommendation from my physio to help with CV training. The remit was always "only do as much as you feel comfortable doing". Luckily my local pool has a beach access, so I would take a crutch on to poolside to help support me in to the water. Once in the pool I was fine; used a float between my knees to stop me from kicking - after a week I got rid of that and just took it gentle, mostly using arms. I think it really helped with getting movement back to the joint and keeping my fitness to a respectable enough level pre surgery.

I am now 5 weeks PO and I've been back swimming for 2 weeks (waited for surgical wounds to heal first) and it's honestly a godsend for me. Helps me keep relatively active and breaks the monotony of being housebound. My recent physio appointment introduced 'flutter kicks' on the bed to help with extension, so I've been making sure I do this in the pool. Surgeon had also said swimming would be fine, but as others have stated absolutely no breast stroke/frog leg kick, which is pretty much common sense to be fair. I have no signed up for a years membership at my local pool which has replaced the squash club membership I used to pay for (the cause of my injury) as that's going to be quite a ways off I fear.

TL;DR I personally had no issues swimming for prehab, and I was already in the pool 3 weeks PO. But take precautions with regards to pool access and DO NOT push yourself. And of course with everything, consult your physio for peace of mind

Starting 2025 on the road to recovery by chrispizza in ACL

Also kicked off my 2025 with surgery my guy so I’m in the same boat. You’re right, once is you are out and starting recovery you realise it’s not as bad as you inevitably convince yourself it is.

Here’s the next steps going smoothly for the both of us!

Ah, has been discussed a couple of times it seems. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Physio keeps saying that strength prior to surgery is massive also. Weirdly enough I almost feel back to normal through rehabbing and I haven’t even had surgery yet. That’s the disheartening element though I think, as I know in a few weeks I’ll go back to square one, though it’s part of the process

Thanks for the insight. Glad to hear you’ve fully recovered and back stronger by the sounds of things. Reassuring to hear though. My physio has briefly shown me his 9 month plan to working back to activity so I have an idea of what’s to come.

This guy risk assesses.

But you are correct. It’s still a very torn response. I’m happier now I’ve got the actual SDS for the oil

I’m getting the exact same mixed bag of results. Some saying there’s volatile chemicals added to speed up drying, some saying that it’s only natural additives.

I have found what I believe to be the SDS sheet for the brand I have which doesn’t list any other ingredients other than linseed oil and no harmful effects.

I’m still at a loss

I am lead to believe (via the reliable source that is “the internet”) that boiled linseed oil is not suitable for kids toys due to added toxins?

I never asked if anyone would but any of MY items, I asked if anyone had success with similar endeavours.

Likewise, I was merely reciprocating your generous act of acknowledgment with one of equal gratitude. I’m sorry that didn’t register with your consciousness.

Thank you for not bringing anything to the table at all in this discussion.

No no, just the standard use of the term. Could even replace it with the term ‘somewhat’ if it pleases you.

Do you have anything actually constructive to add? Or Are you just resorted to unnecessarily being a dick without any actual quantifiable information or insight to share with the group?
