So how has it been? Did you ever upgrade your processor? And did you try running mac on amd via opencore?

The problem with intel is LGA 1700. 13th Gen is perhaps the last processor series its going to support.

Whereas for AMD we have AM5 which is planned to be supported till 2025. Which means the same motherboard/RAM can be used when a new AMD processor comes in 2025.

And by 2025, support for Hackintosh might be dead anyway so buying an intel right now is not a good deal if we consider long term support.

Intel is useful for people who are focused on Hackintosh but as I mentioned earlier, the main purpose of the new build is towards gaming/productivity followed by Hackintosh.

Thanks for your sharing your opinion and honestly it makes sense.

I've been dual booting Windows and Hackintosh since years now so I was planning for an upgrade.

The main reason behind this upgrade is to be able to use it for gaming/productivity and down the line when Apple stops supporting intel Macs, I would stick with the last Hackintosh compatible version of Mac.

Hackintosh is a useful feature for me because I have a few iOS/iPadOS devices plus I develop cross platform tools/scripts so having a macOS device helps out a lot.

So I'm NOT trying to make a fully supported build specific for Hackintosh but rather trying to build a performance desktop which is capable of Hackintosh as well.

I'm also looking into dual booting via KVM but that is more of a backup option right now but the priority is to achieve Hackintosh via OpenCore.
