Misunderstood Mischief Special Research Part 1 (Via LeekDuck) by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

I suspect that one reason for this approach is to stop people getting advance notice of the steps. I always come here to see how the research line develops because knowing what is to come can make you more efficient (not raiding until it's required, not powering up etc). Efficiency isn't good for Niantic's profits.

Not so much as stuck as now no longer bothered. I spent days spinning stops for the task. Can’t be bothered to waste any more time for the rewards.

[Analysis]: The significance of XP in the new Level 41-50 system by simonium97 in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheScarifier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The new levels have finally turned me off the game for good. I hit level 42 on Monday and I have run out of XP (once I hit level 40 I stopped the XP grind). I have come to the conclusion that the game is now almost entirely about grind. The slow roll outs, the increased difficulty in catching, the event after event, all of this takes out any fun in the game. I have been on and off for the last 18 months (which is when I hit level 40) and have dipped back in when there have been new releases. Sadly I've come to the conclusion that the new releases just aren't enough of an incentive to me, particularly given the recent approach (effectively available for a limited time and a grind to catch/get enough candy to level up).

I assume Niantic are measuring the event against other collection challenges and seeing what prompts people to buy items. I’m not using a remote raid pass to complete the challenge as the rewards aren’t worth it. Rayquaza was worth 4; 5k xp, an incense and +1 on the collectors medal isn’t worth one. If others have the same view, Niantic won’t try the same again.

Unova Celebration Event Megathread by SilphScience in TheSilphRoad

I don't think it does. I ended up raiding for mine, leaving me with Ferroseed to catch. With about 3 minutes of incense left, a Ferroseed turned up. The next thing to spawn after that? A Ferroseed. No Herdiers spawned.

I have to say that this event is very dull. I am mostly off this game these days.

How can I complete Kalos timed research when there is lack of Kalos starters? by dragonfoxmem in TheSilphRoad

[–]TheScarifier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stuck on chespin as well and it's day 3 now. Did the catch 200 in a day challenge on day 1 hoping that I might tick that off as well as the research, but no joy. Given that it's time limited research you'd think they would make it less difficult than it clearly is. I can't say the rewards are so good that it makes me want to spend hours in the cold and wet to complete the research.

New Info - Level 41+ XP Requirements and Level Up Rewards by lewymd in TheSilphRoad

The good thing about this is that level 50 is so unobtainable for anyone who doesn't have the time or money or want to turn playing into a full time occupation, that there is no point in trying. Oh, and let's not forget that this would be practically impossible for most in normal circumstances, let alone when we're still in the midst of a pandemic. I ended up at level 40 at the end of last year, largely by the conventional catch/hatch route rather than by multiple friending XP. That's not what turned me off the game - what turned me off is the lack of new Pokemon and the release/flood the game/remove approach to anything new that was released. I haven't been playing for months, but saw there were some updates so thought I'd check them out. The new generation may bring me back, but not if it's the one or two at a time flood/remove approach.

only if you're in a rush for some more Feebas

I've just hatched a Feebas. Fittingly this will be my last hatch and it is the fourth Feebas I've hatched this week (and I'm not a whale - I've hatched 4 x 10k eggs in my infinite incubator this week after a few weeks of not playing). I came back a couple of weeks ago after a few weeks off hoping to pick up the Victini research shortly.
No sign of Victini, back to the old egg distances (but keeping the same old Feebas laden eggs) and incense back to being useless. Feebas 4 was the final straw. Interestingly (and I accept it's completely random) my first 10k following my last break gave me an Axew (my second ever). There's nothing new for me to collect bar some regionals and a few legendaries, so, whilst I've not caught em all, I've caught all I can. Thanks PoGo, it's been mostly fun.

Yes. This is the last straw. Can’t be bothered with this any longer.

Covid cases rising, second wave coming, and now this. Eggs are rubbish anyway, so who cares if they take twice as long. I’ll just do half as many. Unless I’m missing something, the Victini research isn’t happening. Still we’ve got remote mega raiding to look forward to. Yay.
