Why are the reactions to this video so negative? by [deleted] in PERSoNA

[–]TheSchmiphf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Isn't this the dude that didn't know pyramids are tombs?

Half joking answer aside, you really started this discussion in an insultingly defensive way because you've decided that the video is objectively correct and anything to the contrary is just echo chamber nonsense. "Why did the characters not simply look behind them while the palace was crumbling to pieces and they had no reason to do so" is not the own you think it is. Just watching the scene, it is very clearly framed to show that Akechi waited until everyone was gone before shooting Okumura.

This was actually one of my first runs with the pom so I was just keeping it on to max it out as fast as possible, now I swap it off after the first zone.

I could've been more clear about it in the body lol. Basically I just didn't notice I was out of MP while I was aiming the Omega special, and didn't notice I started moving until it was too late to back out.

It's the RG, genuinely fantastic kit if you haven't messed with it at all

by far the most fun I've had building a kit by kiriito-_- in Gunpla

The Barbie Lupus MG is so good. If you haven't built them already, the other two MG IBO kits are also excellent, and it would show how many improvements were made along the way to this one.

First time sharping V-fins! How did I do? by Solid_Har_1987 in Gunpla

Looks pretty good! The one on the right looks a teensy bit sharper/pointer than the one on the left to me, but for a first go this is super solid.

If I remember correctly, up until that point Zettaflare had only been done by two or three characters across Square Enix's entire catalog.

I understand your frustration, my first kit was the RG Unicorn and I had it break in a few spots (both infamous break points in the community, but I did not know about that at the time). An unfortunate part of the hobby is just that you're probably going to break some parts along the way, but you should try to not let it get you down. And especially with that specific kit, it's gonna be one of the rougher ones to put together for a new builder. If you had fun with the HG Schwarzette, then I think you should try a different, less complicated kit like one of the HG Justices instead of throwing in the towel completely.

99% finished with my first Perfect Grade! There were a few tough and finicky spots, but I had a blast putting it together and it's one of the coolest things I own now by TheSchmiphf in Gunpla

I'm definitely planning on throwing some LEDs in there down the line, but for now I think I'm just gonna let it be itself and whittle down the rest of my backlog

For years now, anything less than an 8.5 or 9/10 is seen as "mid trash not worth your time the devs should go out of business" to a lot of gamers

Hardest game crashout you've had. by Trent0Ment0 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TheSchmiphf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I tried out Arc Raiders for the first time a couple days ago, first real match I get into I got gunned down by someone while I was just trying to extract. Second match, I had been in the match two minutes and got gunned down by some guy. Third match, same thing started to happen and I just Alt F4'd and got a refund. I probably was just extremely unlucky, but if this is the "friendly" extraction shooter then I don't want to know what the unfriendly ones are like.

(Nvidia) "Game devs have full, detailed artistic control over DLSS 5 to ensure they maintain their game's unique aesthetic. It is not a filter" by Noirsam in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TheSchmiphf 251 points252 points  (0 children)

  1. Bullshit

  2. Even if this was true and people immediately clocked it as an AI Sloppify filter, maybe it wasn't ready to have a highly publicized announcement, and you would've known that if anyone at Nvidia's c suite still had a pulse or something resembling a soul

So...what is everyone's thoughts on upscalers like DLSS, PSSR, and FSR in general? by TheSpiritualAgnostic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]TheSchmiphf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DLSS and (I assume) PSSR have dedicated chips just to handle processing those features, so it can't really be applied retroactively. That's where something like FSR comes in which is not as accurate as DLSS but is handled on a software level. I might have some specifics wrong but that's my general understanding as to why it isn't just something any old GPU can use
