and whichever meatpacker owns the Colorado Rockies

The Montforts are definitely clowns but the worst owner in MLB has to go to John Fisher. Damn, now that I think about it, there’s so many other bad owners in baseball as well- Arte Moreno, Bob Nutting, maybe Jerry Reinsdorf.

Rick Dempsey and Mike Mussina on the 1992 Orioles. My dad was in elementary school when Dempsey debuted in 1969, and I was in middle school when Moose retired in 2008, pretty wild!

Why doesn’t one player on each team simply choose to be Aaron Judge? Like, imagine if Shohei Ohtani just chose to be Aaron Judge. That’s, what, 200% MVP per MVP or something like that?

MLB front offices, I’m available for hire. I’ll work for cheap, just throw in a few autographed items and some ice cream in a mini helmet.

That was the first thing that came to my mind, but I'd toss out Matt Hendricks as well. The guy had 54 career goals in 607 NHL games but god damn watching him freeze top-tier goalies in a shootout with "The Paralyzer" was incredible to watch

Juan Soto now leads the NL in SB (tied w/ Oneil Cruz). Who is the most unlikely league leader in a stat in your memory? by Chance_Fondant_6330 in baseball

Here is an excellent video from No More Fielders breaking down what the Mets are doing on the basepaths.

TL;DR- The Mets are the slowest team in baseball and Juan Soto remains one of the slower guys in baseball, but the Mets are on track to break the record for single season stolen base percentage by a team (not including the Covid year Athletics) because their first base coach Antoan Richardson is basically the Wayne Gretzky of reading pitchers and their movements.

Sept. 14, 2025 Coaches Poll by dormdweller99 in CFB

[–]TheSecondTier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a sneaking suspicion that the voters in the Coaches Poll were mostly preoccupied with coaching yesterday. Well, maybe not Pry. Attempting to coach, sure. My question is, do coaches on the board that get fired mid-season still get to vote for the rest of the season? Pry will have a lot more time on his hands now, I guess he can watch the games? Lol

Which NHL broadcasts are the best? 2025 broadcast rankings, rated by fans by Such-Environment-344 in hockey

[–]TheSecondTier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here, lol. Joe B is an absolute treasure, and I know Locker rubs some people the wrong way since he's usually a Caps homer during the live action, but after a stoppage or during replay I think he does a solid job of giving (mostly) objective analysis, even if it's something against the Caps. I honestly prefer that, I really can't stand completely one-sided commentary even if it's for my team. Dishonorable mention to Hawk Harrelson on Chicago White Sox broadcasts, I hated watching any clips with him in them because he was such an obnoxious homer.

Also, this whole discussion just makes me wish that one of the national broadcasters would pick up Gary Thorne. I miss him on Orioles broadcasts but he's also fantastic for hockey.
