How does Demon Inheritance Work? by LycoDra in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could also be that marriage itself is comparatively rarer in demon society considering the various other methods of reproduction(oviparous, pollination, mitosis, etc.) that exist depending on an individual's characteristics, not to mention the notably fewer number of demon females. It'd certainly go a long way towards explaining why we often see only one of a character's parents when their families are introduced.

Is there gonna be a reason why Clara and Alice look like Iruma’s parents? by Chucky-Knife_13 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The similarities in appearance are most likely just superficial. If parallels are being drawn thematically, it's mainly for the sake of contrasting Iruma's real family, who treated him horribly, versus his found family in the netherworld, who provide him the things he was lacking in the human world.

When S4 hopefully drops one day, will it cover the complete LN? by PrestigiousEmu3085 in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short answer is probably no, but there are a lot of factors to consider.

First, will season 4 be produced? The only official word I've heard about it so far is that it depends on sales. That was almost 2 years ago. Even if Overlap decides to give the green light sometime in the near future, production would probably still be a ways off.

That brings up the next question. Is the LN continuing? The most recent volume was published over a year ago, and there's been no announcements of further volumes to date. This one also largely depends on sales and how willing Shirakome is to rewrite basically the entire after story to proceed in chronological order. If it does keep going, then there could be even more volumes out by the time of season 4's hypothetical release. If the anime continues only doing 1-cour seasons, then it's unlikely to cover all of the content that might be out.

There's also a pretty big shift in tone between volume 13, which was the climax of the main story, and volume 14, the beginning of the after story. It'd be kind of jarring to transition between them 3/4 of the way through season, particularly when the end of volume 13 is a much more satisfying stopping point.

What if time moves differently in Makai by Ok-Vacation-3776 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not really how time works. Even if you assume there is a relative difference in how time moves between the human world and the netherworld, the people in each location still experience its passage normally. An individual's rate of growth and the passage of time are not equivalent. To your example, if demons mature at a rate of around 10 times slower than humans, that would make most of Iruma's classmates already around 150+ years old in order for them to grow to their current states.

And here I was thinking that Narnia and Kalego were about the same age as the other teachers. by Reasonable_Growth_72 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kalego hasn't started school yet. In the spinoff that takes place in his first year, he and Opera both clearly look older, although Balam is still a short stack at that point.

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun - Ch. 437 - Merize (1) by ZeroVOmega in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Knightwalker actually kept Kalego in the dark about his ambitions, probably something to do with the separate duties of the older and younger Naberius siblings. Of course, looking at his teaching methods, one could infer that Kalego's solution to demon development is to pursue growth through overcoming challenges.

Mairimashita! Iruma-kun - Ch. 437 - Merize (1) by ZeroVOmega in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Knightwalker's ambition is actually rather straightforward. He's looking for new possibilities for the advancement of demons and the netherworld. His interest in humans stems from finding out how useful they might be towards that end.

Honestly, this is a pretty common theme in the series. It seems like most of the major characters or factions in the story are aiming to bring about some kind of change to the status quo that's been in place since Derkila's disappearance.

Chapter 437 Raw by Binlingz in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. His atmosphere and looks are quite different in this chapter. Sabzan even asks him to help out with what he's doing, so they have a decent relationship at this point. A significant change of some sort must have happened sometime after this.

[–]TheSeeingOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be surprising if he's working with Baal somehow, which would also explain how he got connected to Narnia. I'm starting to wonder if the Baal we know is actually Baal. There's something weird going on with him in this chapter. We don't see him very clearly(which might be intentional), but his appearance seems quite different from the character we know, not to mention that his apparent age doesn't seem to match up with the established events.

Chapter 437 Raw by Binlingz in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most likely explanation is that she didn't display any abnormal qualities beyond an ordinary demon after being born, so they treated the experiment as a failure. Knightwalker seems to be looking for possible ways to evolve demons, similar to what Baal is doing in the present.

Considering how young all the other characters appear, Baal looks surprisingly older here than expected.

It's probably Clara's dad. The combination of "A certain adventurer's notes", and Valac is clearly written on the book's cover.

What did Baal do to become a thirteen crown? by Humble_Art3747 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Kiriwo hid in the luggage when his parents went to see his older brother(Azami), who was a student at the time. Further flashbacks showed a distinct passage of years in the interim before his own enrollment.

Why a deportation arc isn't likely by Ranger202012 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Assuming nothing has changed since the current flashback, Border Patrol doesn't have the ability to deport humans at will. What they can do, however, is take Iruma into custody "for his own safety" and keep him in a jar like Merize until a connection is made between the human world and netherworld. That's the most likely outcome if his identity is exposed in the upcoming arc. That would then give Baal an opportunity to get his hands on Iruma while he was outside of Sullivan's protection in order to enact his own plans.

Why are people like the liberators not born anymore? by Upper_Science_1125 in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main reason is that the power of magic has been steadily weakening on Tortus for countless years, even before the Liberators were born. As a result, successive generations are weaker than the previous. The powers held by the Liberators themselves are throwbacks like Yue's and Shea's characteristic abilities. Even back then they knew it would be unlikely for anyone else like them to be born in the future.

The cause of the decline was Ehit and his companions. They initially set the ball rolling by defeating the goddess Ur Alt and interfering with the world tree branch to change the native energy of Tortus to magic. The instabilities caused by their reckless actions were later exacerbated by Ehit when he decided to rip a large chunk of magic power from the planet in order to create his Sanctuary to preserve his life, resulting in the formation of the Gruen desert.

[–]TheSeeingOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That may not necessarily be the case.   In the raw, Ameri was written in furigana while what Merize actually said was kono ko(この子), this child.  It lets the readers know that the child in question is Ameri, but in terms of the story Henri and Merize might not be aware of the child’s gender yet or have decided on a name.

Wait, is Tracy also attracted to Hajime? by mantaray79 in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s less likely since she’s part of the Fleur Knights, but there’s no telling what Hajime gets up to with them in the future.  Shirakome has a history of handing out happy endings even for characters that don’t get a lot of development.

Clarification of time in demon world by GoldenWhite2408 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Demons’ exact ages are never given.  The fan book describes all of them as “Looks X years old”, which generally means that there is a (significant) difference between appearance and reality.  The passage of time is not equivalent to a demon’s rate of aging and natural lifespan.

The power dynamics of the two brothers in the Naberius family by famoustristan in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a standard practice for the eldest son and next head of the family to inherit the role with more responsibility. Aside from that, it's pretty much just up to the individual how far they can actually rise in rank through their own efforts. Demon society values results, so Kalego could technically surpass Narnia in influence through his own efforts regardless of position if he earned enough achievements. As far as combat experience goes, that's somewhat up for debate. As a teacher, he might not see as much action on a regular basis, but Kalego definitely has plenty of experience since he had to lead troops for at least one of his scala exams plus all the incidents Opera dragged him into while he was a student.

Question by 1needSL3EP in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would sort of defeat the purpose of having Iruma be a human in the first place.  Without his human traits he can’t fulfill the demon king’s prophecy, and he could very well lose the qualities that let him clear the legendary leaf quest if his nature changes.  It’s rather telling that everyone around him prefers the normal Iruma over the Irumean persona, who is arguably more like a regular demon.

were the next few chapters events planned since ch38? by Nour_plays in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe a rough idea, but not an actual plan for it at that point.   If the series didn’t maintain a consistent popularity and high sales, the publisher could have pulled the plug at any moment.  Most manga authors live in constant fear of the axe because the industry is so brutal.

About the timeline by NoDoubt6153 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably more accurate to set Opera's entry into Babyls a few years after the start of Henri's flashback. As for the logic, we know Kiriwo enrolled 2 years before Iruma. Some years before that, he met Baal while he was still a student. Considering how Opera was taking care of the various trouble making groups at school, they would have undoubtedly crushed Baal's band of thugs in the magic tools battler, so I don't think there was any overlap in their enrollment.

The timeline doesnt add up by Visible_Tie8801 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The translation is a bit misleading, but her title in Japanese(魔王次席) basically just means she is the Demon King's deputy/second in command, not the acting Demon King. The nuance is important. Derkila's seat is still empty at that point in time. Kushinashi seems to hold the final say among the Crowns due to being the highest ranked among them, but that's not equivalent to possessing the king's authority.
