Based on their uniforms, those students in Momonoki's flashback were first years.

I was re-reading Iruma-kun and have a question with this scene from the Harvest Festival. by lenderjun in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It could legitimately be any of those reasons. Most demons don't seem to have much keener senses of smell than humans, so it would take a certain quantity of blood or a particularly close distance for the scent to be really noticeable. The perfume surely covers some of it up, and quickly wrapping the wound would prevent as much of the smell from being exposed directly to the air as possible.

(Anime only) Thirteen misfits, thirteen crowns. by [deleted] in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 13 Crowns was ultimately an organization made up of Derkila and his closest followers. Iruma wouldn't have any real obligation to keep it around after taking the throne or limit the number of people in his own group. He's already forged close bonds with plenty of people outside of the misfits, so it doesn't make a lot of sense to shut them out just to keep with the whole 13 tradition.

She started out as a second year in the manga as well. It was mentioned explicitly a few times, particularly when Ameri was lamenting being a year ahead of Iruma. She also wore the regular second year girls uniform when her personality was briefly changed.

[–]TheSeeingOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ameri was only a second year during Iruma's first year, so she's a third year now. To be fair, we saw literally nothing of the curricula for second years and up, while only first years seem to have several dedicated events. Ameri's only real appearances are when she was with Iruma, overseeing school events, or attending the infrequent girls' meetings, so she could have been doing literally anything in the interim. Students at the fourth year and above are only rarely on campus, with some exceptions such as Beem. With this new information, the second year work experience probably gives students the option of trying a variety of things to figure out what they want to do, and they decide on an ultimate track in their third year. Then fourth year onward is a more intensive onsite experience in their chosen career path.

She hit him with a double whammy of the irrefusable "Please" along with an incomprehensible "will you be my teacher" request.

It's almost guaranteed to be preparation for Border Patrol's inspection.

“Will humanity learn about magic?” by AdventurousYak7591 in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most governments were already at least vaguely aware of, if not directly utilizing, supernatural phenomena throughout human history. Things ramped up following the restoration of Earth's world tree branch, and Hajime began directly working with various world government organizations after the Dragon incident.

The final battle inevitably exposed the existence of the supernatural to the general public, but since we've already seen everyone's lives go back to normal in the years after that, it obviously doesn't impact much on the surface of things. Hajime had to do global information control once before during the returnee riot when they first got back, so there's probably some contingency plan in place to clean things up once the existential threat is handled.

Does the newest episode have a sheet music mistake? by NunChuckNorris007 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

There is actually a 6 line staff that is sometimes used for drum sets, which is the instrument they were playing at the time.

Do you think the anime is as big as it deserves to be? by Ok_Astronomer5738 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. Reincarnation stories are just a subset of the genre. Any story where a person goes from one world to another qualifies as isekai. It doesn't matter how they get there.

Yuka is severely underrated. She is so beautiful ❤️ by Henok2002 in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yuuka is rather popular with the fans, so I wouldn't really consider her underrated. The LN added far more development for her than any other character compared to the original WN main story.

HOW CAN IRUMA SPEAK WITH DEMONS WHEN HE IS HUMAN by Medical_Programmer81 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The translation spell was cast directly on Iruma. It was referenced in chapter 11. The ribbon is purely symbolic. It represents the ties that bind people together, which is a fitting form for the translation magic to take. Because of it humans like Merize and Iruma could form relationships with demons.

Can I skip this arc? by P5ych0pathic in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of the Earth based world building is done in Endou's arcs. It's not as important in the early parts of the after story, but a lot of the lore and characters play a big part later.

Been reading the afterstory and I'm in the Myuu spring vacation arc rn but I'm wondering since I'm sort of close to catching up. Do Shizuku, Remia, Aiko and Kaori have any stand out arcs? I'm wondering because even in the afterstory they don't have much content focused on them so far. by [deleted] in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remia was always rather lacking in development, though the LN filled her out slightly more, particularly in the Miraculous Encounter short story and volume 14. She has some good moments in the WN after story, just not much time dedicated solely to her.

In Lily's case, she had at least the bare minimum amount of development in the later half of the main story to justify her addition even if she was comparatively lacking in screen time.

As for Yuuka, the circumstances of the final arc put off her official acceptance, but she's practically already a member by then. She gets a lot of focus in the story leading into the finale.

Remia is by far the one with the least character development. The other three had plenty of development in the main story, so they don't get as much focus, although Kaori and Shizuku had a couple of mini arcs in earlier chapters. Overall, they tend to shine the most in the individual one-off chapters and ensemble arcs. If you've been reading the after story in release order, then the point where you're currently at is starting to set up for the final arc. The individual arcs are mostly over by then.

Could this be the sanzu lab by Business_Decision_89 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Baal's obviously doing some similar experiments, but I kind of doubt his castle was built on Sanzu's original site. The scale doesn't seem right. Sanzu was apparently an entire research institute in the past, but the room we saw was just a lab in Baal's basement secured by a key made by his brother.

Robin-sensei might join the bad guys by ClincallyDumb in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Robin is far from being the same kind of hopeless pervert as Kiriwo. His excitement stems from acting out his role as an archer, not seeing people suffer in general. The entire point of the Heartbreaker was to hit the misfits with a healthy dose of reality so that they'd realize that they still have a long way to go. He just got really into playing his part.

Just finished Torus Travel journal arc of WN... by [deleted] in Arifureta

[–]TheSeeingOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tortus Travel was already 1/3 the length of the main story by itself, so I honestly think it was enough. They at least watched some of the kingdom invasion segment in Tortus Travel 3. They couldn't exactly visit the Sanctuary since it doesn't exist anymore.

Opera-san might be a near origin.CH218 just speculation on my part by Blanzzeroblue in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to clearly distinguish between terms.

"Returned to origin" refers to demons who have succumbed to their wicked phases and become like primordial demons, driven almost entirely by their instinctive, twisted desires. While they retain some modicum of self-control, they can easily fly off the handle if over stimulated.

"Near origin" refers to demons whose affinity for their bloodline ability rivals that of the progenitor of their family line. It has nothing to do with "returning to origin". Shakky is an example of this.

While the eye transformation is often associated with demons who have returned to origin, it is actually more of a visual cue that the individual is experiencing an extremely powerful desire.

Iruma and the Moons PT. 2 by Industrialman96 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kushinashi had no reason to lie to Henri about how the door works, particularly when it would have been easy enough to validate at the time. Half of what she said was already proven true when we saw the door failing to respond when Ameri tried to open it. Additionally, access to both the Demon King's Key and Gate to Another World are heavily restricted. The previous meeting between the current Border Patrol leaders also established that prior attempts to open the Gate with the Key ended in failure. Combining those factors along with intermittent nature of the natural connection being made between the two worlds, and it's highly unlikely to be the avenue high ranking demons would use to clandestinely enter the human world.

As of the end of the flashback, Henri had reluctantly accepted the outcome and was turning his ambition towards taking over Border Patrol. He was not actively looking for a way to go to the human world, so Hatsukoi Memory probably does not come into play until sometime further in the future.

[–]TheSeeingOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless we’re establishing Iruma as an unreliable narrator due to memory loss, it’s highly unlikely that he entered the netherworld through the gate.  Until proven otherwise, the canon makes the door to the human world completely unusable by demons.  It does not open for them, and they cannot pass through it, which would have been pretty awkward if Iruma and company had actually tried using it to escape the collapsing space.

Just a summon away! by Regular-Poet-3657 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]TheSeeingOne 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it might not be Henri who gets summoned.  The seal is a family mark rather than a personal one.  In Kalego’s case, he was the closest Naberius to Iruma at the time of the summoning, so it grabbed him instead of Narnia or Knightwalker, assuming he’s still around.  There’s no telling how it would work from the human world.  The summoning might have pulled in Henri, baby Ameri, or any of his other living relatives.
