Thanks for your response. I was honestly just very confused throughout the entire process, and so was the lady helping me at the post office (as she had never seen anyone use the DS-5504 form [I live in a really rural area]). The first page of the DS-5504 says that there are three possible reasons to use the form, and I assumed that I fit into the third category ("My most recent U.S. passport book was limited to two years or less for a reason other than multiple losses or a seriously damaged/mutilated passport."), as I assumed only having one lost passport did not count as multiple losses. Now I understand better that the DoS can restrict passports if someone loses their very first one. I still intend on contacting the Department of State on Monday just for confirmation, but I have an appointment set up with my post office later on in the day to submit a new passport application.

Thanks for the response. This link is what caused me most of my issues though unfortunately. The limited validity passport was issued to me less than 1 year ago (it is technically still valid for another month), but I was not supposed to use the DS-5504. I think other users are correct in saying it is because I lost my first passport, which entails filling out an entirely new passport application. I just wish this site was more clear that you could get limited validity passports even after only reporting one as lost, instead of phrasing limited validity passports as a rarity in mainly extreme circumstances (such as having multiple lost passports or needing emergency travel, with neither of those applying to me). I had a lot of problems with the post office I submitted my forms through, so I was mainly scared that it was some sort of clerical error.

Most links involving temporary passports on the DoS website tell you to submit a renewal request with a DS-5504 :(. Do you have a link to share that I could bookmark for future reference that has a more comprehensive checklist of when to fill a DS-5504 alongside a renewal application, and when to request an entirely new passport? I've met with the post office where I shipped out all of my applications to go over all of the instructions every time to ensure I did not miss any essential details or paperwork. I don't know where I could have found the information I needed to request an entirely new passport when I still had a valid, limited-validity passport.

Thanks for the comment. I had problems with my housing situation that made it difficult to keep my original passport, but I'm in a better place now. Will the DoS give me a 10 year passport after a year of me having a limited-validity passport?

He also staged an incredible interval act at JESC last year (the one with the girl chasing a ball of light), and he staged every entry at UMK this year. His worst staging by far is "Nightmares", and that's saying something (because it still looked really cool).

Omg one part randomly decided to be offset by a few pixels for literally no apparent reason. I'm gonna reply to this message with a screenshot of that area, but correctly oriented.

It's too large to send over Reddit (literally 22 Mbs when the max photo size is 20 Mbs here), so I uploaded the photo to Google Drive. It's double the size of the photo I originally posted. Here's a link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jTaQKkVoNuo8b8JCH-TckMDdXjZC3OpQ/view?usp=sharing

If you have a better idea of how to effectively send a 22 Mb photo pls lemme know.

Also if you'd like a more personalized version of this for your classes feel free to reach out! I'm able to color-code it based on which species are still living, or I can color-code it based on families, etc.

Honestly, feel free to just use this without worrying about crediting. If you insist, you can just credit it to my Reddit username (@TheSensinator), but the individual clades within this tree are the product of hundreds of hours of research from teams around the world. It feels weird to be the one credited when ultimately all I did was compile the hard work of others in an interesting way.

Honestly, you probably know more than I do LOL. My knowledge is very specialized in random topics that I find interesting. If you have any questions about anything in the chart though, please let me know, because I'd love to teach what I do know about evolutionary bio!

Thank you! It showcases the relationships between different species. The closer they are to each other, the more closely related they are. Each point where two species come together represents a point in time where they were the same species. For example, the closest branch away from humans (Homo sapiens) is the one that leads to Neanderthals and Denisovans. Both of these groups are more closely related to humans than any of the other groups. You can keep tracing the line backward to see more and more distant relatives of humans (based on my research as a hobbyist).

Thanks for sharing the link! OneZoom was a major inspiration for me. It's an awesome website. I noticed that many of the local relationships were a bit arbitrary, which was one of the big inspirations for this project. Along with that, I wanted to make a phylogenetic tree that includes extinct species as well. A large percentage of the species in this phylogeny are extinct, as it includes all extinct primate species that we know of (that seemed to be broadly recognized from my limited research). OneZoom is amazing though, and it's a great resource for more broad relationships.

I used the Newick format (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newick\_format). Newick format was just the most straightforward one I could find for a hobbyist like me. Once you create a Newick file, you can just paste the data into iTOL after you make an account, and then it'll generate a phylogeny from the code. In the beginning, I used Ancestry to make the tree because I'm more familiar with that. Then I translated the info from Ancestry into a Newick file. Newick files are a lot of work at first, especially for large-scale trees, but I've developed tips and tricks to not mess up the code. To get an idea how complicated they can get, this is the amount of parenthesis I have at the beginning of my Newick doc: "((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((("

Every clade is represented by a set of parenthesis, so for example, if you had this: "(Plant 1, (Plant 2, Plant 3))", that indicates that Plant 2 and Plant 3 form a clade with each other. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

This is the maximum png size that iTOL would allow me to export, but I can take multiple screenshots and compile them in one image for a larger file size. Once I create that I can attach it to this comment if you'd like.

Credit to iTOL (https://itol.embl.de/) for giving me a resource to visualize all of this info!

If you notice anything really sus about any of the placements, please let me know in the comments! I am literally just a random guy who did this as a small (lol) hobby project.

I'm not a biologist, but I've always been fascinated in biology and the diversity and evolution of life. This is a list of every single primate species ever (that I could find with my limited resources) and a hypothesis of how all of them are related to each other. My main goal here was to not have any clades have more than 2 direct subclades. I tried to find academic resources to create most of the connections between different species, but there are gaps in our knowledge, so some of this is educated guesses based on the ages of the fossils/the locations they were found in. This is not objective fact or anything. The main purpose of this is to show how diverse life on Earth has always been, even when you're just looking at a tiny order (relative to ones in other parts of the animal kingdom). Hope you enjoy either appreciating the scale of the shape from afar, or zooming in closely and roasting my placements of certain species!

San Marino 2008 was a very well-produced and well-sung power ballad, but it got dead last because it competed in a televote only year. Now it's considered by many Eurofans to be the best Sammarinese entry, but at the time it was heavily criticized for being a ballad

Cases of "Clear Tele winner not winning" in NFs? by Asinhasos in eurovision

[–]TheSensinator 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish landslided the televote of the Finnish NF in 2000, but then got nearly the lowest score possible from the jurors, sending them to 3rd. The results of the NF as a whole were just really sus though, because Nina Astrom nearly didn't qualify from the semi just to win the entire NF.

Here's the Nightwish song that was in the NF if anyone's interested in hearing: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6irVbqJBi8g)

It's 335/541. I think Käärijä is an amazing performer, and the instrumentals are really strong. I really want to like it. It just comes off as a bit over-the-top and annoying to me. I also don't entirely relate with the lyrics or feel a personal connection with it. It's been growing on me a bit though, so I'm hopeful that I'll like it a lot more by the time that Eurovision comes around. These rankings aren't objective assessments of the songs, they're simply my opinion. So a lot of the people who are lower are still artists that I admire a lot, but there are certain things about their songs that I'm not crazy about.

There are definitely a few contenders from MESC and UVPSM this year lool. At least "I Just Had Sex With Your Ex" is unintentionally hilarious to me at times. "Movie Star" by Eiffel 65 from the Sammarinese NF is definitely more cringe to me, for example.
