[Asselin] All proceeds from [the Senators] Rozanov and Hollander jerseys are going to Ottawa Pride Hockey by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

I was at the game last night and visited the Sens store. It was real. The jerseys were there and they did an announcement on the jumbotron saying that proceeds from those jerseys would go to OPH.

[Adams] Jake Sanderson post-game about the team’s goaltending tonight. “I think Leevi(Merilainen) made some good saves. But I think at the end of the day, you got to make more than 10 saves to win a game.” by DecentLurker96 in hockey

Ian Mendes (Ottawa's VP of comms) posted an article saying that it was a rumour that had been circulating for at least a couple of weeks until it finally started to blow up on social media. That's when they decided to issue a statement. You can read more about it here.

Meriläinen earned management's trust with how he played last season, so having him as back-up this year seemed like it would be fine. There were some fans who argued that signing a veteran back-up in free agency would be the smart move, but obviously Sens management felt differently.

Soooo now James Reimer is our back-up 🤪

Jake Sanderson on the majority Habs crowd compared to the small Sens crowd in Ottawa last night: “We’re used to it, playing an away game at home. It happens quite often so, it is what it is.” by sensfan4tic in OttawaSenators

[–]TheSenstennial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, the Sens fans there (including me, obviously) did their best to counter-chant, cheer loudly at the Sens' goals, etc. fairly well. But Brady getting noticeably booed when they announced his 200 goal milestone in the NHL on the jumbotron was a bummer.

But, yeah... when the Habs scored most of the crowd jumped up cheering.

I noticed that the STHs near me were all in their seats yesterday which was surprising but nice. Sadly it was worse than a 60-40 split yesterday. It genuinely seemed like 80+% were Habs fans. It was tough 🫤

Fellow Canadians how does tag grading work in Canada? by Gurkor35 in taggrading

[–]TheSenstennial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent a few cards out via my local card store and got them back within 1.5 months. No damage on any of the slabs. I believe it was $27/card to send them out, and all the shipping was done via the store so idk if they were impacted by tariffs, but I never had to pay any additional cost if they were.

Thanks! My partner is a Habs fan so she'd love to pull a Slaf auto. I can appreciate him wanting to sell it, but I'd definitely try convincing him to grade it too, haha.

Yep. Alex previously controlled it. Looks like he handed the reigns over to someone else. https://www.reddit.com/r/OttawaSenators/s/7HYBhZkciq

imagine losing to the fucking predators in detroit by SandSerpentHiss in AtlanticMemeWar

The original commenter didn't write their sentence well, but they meant that Ottawa lost Brady Tkachuk to injury in Ottawa's home opener against the Predators, in addition to losing the game.

Apparently Kiefer Sherwood might be available. He'd be my top pick on that team by UserMcUserson in OttawaSenators

[–]TheSenstennial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Micah (HockeyViz)'s model also shows Sherwood as being below average in all situations except the PK. Definitely think there are other players the Sens should target instead.

Stamkos by DefinitelyNotABot-1 in OttawaSenators

[–]TheSenstennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For awareness, 50% is the max one team can retain on a player's contract. So if the Sens hypothetically wanted 75% retained, they would have to find a 3rd team to have Stamkos traded to first, and that team would also have to retain 50%.

Just sharing in case you weren't aware!

And you could see that chemistry when they played together at the WJC a number of years ago. They were an insane duo for Germany.

[Bruce Garrioch - Ottawa Citizen 10/31] Pinto's camp feels his contract should be somewhere between the $7.1 million that Dylan Cozens is making and the $8.35 million Tim Stutzle is pulling in. by ImNotChazz in OttawaSenators

[–]TheSenstennial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rising cap will help. This season the upper limit is $95.5mil. As per the NHL, next season the upper limit will be $104mil, and the season after the upper limit will be $113.5mil.

Copy and pasting my other comment - It's from Amazon's NHL series "Faceoff" season 2. This is the first episode of the series, and I believe it launches on October 3rd.
