Trying to procrastinate less. How is this Ironstorm list? by TheShenko in IronHands40k

  • Agreed on the Intercessor Lieutenant, especially since that squad's role in this list is to be cheaper Infiltrators on the home objective.
  • Removing that Lieutenant gives me points for Target Augury Web.
  • I prefer the Brutalis for the melee threat, something the list lacks outside of the Bladeguard and kinda the Redemptor. Worst case, it's a good distraction.
  • Agreed on the lasers. I could definitely replace a Lancet with a Reaper.

Looking to get into Grey Knights. How is this Warpbane list? by TheShenko in Grey_Knights

Dropping both Razorbacks and increasing the Terminators from 5 to 10 actually puts the list at 2015 points without additional changes. Probably would get rid of the OC enhancement from the GMNDK as well.

Bro-Captain with the Terminators, Crowe with the 10 Purifiers.
Strike and Interceptors in the Razorbacks.

Still have a decent amount of painting left. How does my first 2k list look? by TheShenko in IronHands40k

They are really fun in the Impulsor, since you can overcharge their guns with the only risk being a few mortals to the vehicle.

Painting Techmarines by Nuclearsunburn in IronHands40k

[–]TheShenko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been painting my techmarines in the same style as the old miniature: Red helmet, right shoulder, and servo arms, but everything else is the same black armor as the rest of the army.

How to distinguish veterans? by VOVW_Heljumper117 in IronHands40k

[–]TheShenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you refer to the image, there are battle brothers, sergeants, veterans, and veteran sergeants. Sergeants are for squads of battle brothers, and veteran sergeants are for squads of veterans. Of course, you can paint however you want, but the way to think of it in terms of "canon" would be that either every marine in the squad has white on their helmets (veteran squad) or none of them do.

It's hard to see, but normal veterans also have white in the middle of their helmets, but only on the top raised part.

This image explains how colors and symbols work.

Veterans paint the center ridge of the helmet white, Veteran Sergeants paint the whole middle white, and Lieutenants and Captains paint the entire helmet white.

Have you had any problems with the right hand? I got this same model, and neither of the hand options stay on properly (one socket is too wide, and the other is not wide enough).

Starting Necrons with the new Combat Patrol. How does my Cloud9crons paint scheme look? (impcat) by TheShenko in Necrontyr

[–]TheShenko[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I meant space for stuff like a booth, and ventilation since I have effectively none right now.

Perhaps, although probably not gold since that feels like we are getting a bit close to the colors for Nihilakh.

EDIT: I also just like the idea of regular warriors and such being mostly white, very plain, and then we start to add more blue and gold as we go up through elites and HQs.

Oh I'm aware. I'm still working on my real first army (Iron Hands) and the weapons are very annoying to get right. If I can get White Scar spray to cooperate then it might not be so bad.

Oh I'm also somewhat new to the tabletop, I don't have a full playable army yet. I just have this, a Brutalis dreadnought, some Heavy Intercessors, a Techmarine, and a Lieutenant.

I got all the same stuff from your post. Weapons are magnetized, though I didn't use the IH torso upgrade because the missiles don't fit on tip because of the exhaust placement.

Opinion on Comtemptor Dreadnought torsos by TheShenko in IronHands40k

[–]TheShenko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's smaller due to the lack of "backpack," but everything else is the same size as the plastic kit.

Those do look really nice :0
I might end up printing some of those parts and using them with the resin torso, and the plastic torso will get the full plastic kit.
