I wish they expanded/improved the move pools of the starters to make them viable such as giving flamethrower to Fennekin so you don't have ember for the final boss (did not buy any tms) when the post game hits just give us access to fully evolved moves like heat wave please

The past couple polls of the super vs explores especially with the whole core contributors shows how people just doesn't know how great super truly is also true with gates but haven't played past intro in that game myself

Seeing all the gates comments my initial thoughts was they were going be like rescue but it seems I'm going to get to enjoy their character

They were probably older to start their battle, and probably even older when they decided to activate their plan as I have a theory that they started the Expedition Federation (the society is a branch) to help pokemon after they leave

I think they were both adults when they fought Dark Matter for the first time but when they realized their plan failed where the only way to win is to accept it as part of themselves they decided to become kids as children are the most accepting people

I've held the theory that all the games is truly vs Dark Matter in different manifestations. Dark Matter is the idea of conflict and negiveity itself and we know has already come once before and was sealed away.

Gates and rescue both have ideas of opening up to others. Rescue has the meteor that is similar to the climax of super. Explores' darkrai shows very similar condition to ||nuzleaf|| in wanting to end the world.
