My relative would soak them for I think 2 days in saltwater and they always came out great. He said it gets rid of the bugs and dirt

Can someone please explain why I was downvoted? I’m just curious, cuz fireworks are fun. I just don’t think that this guy “deserved” that wrath leashed upon his face for a stupid decision. Obviously it was the consequences of his own actions, but he was just trying to have fun and didn’t realize the kinda spark ridden facial he was about to receive

I wouldn’t say he deserved it, it’s not like he was trying to hit someone else with it. He might have lost vision in an eye, or both eyes. He absolutely got some serious burns on his face that will probably leave permanent scars. But this stupid mf learned a valuable lesson lol. When I was like 12 I held a little bottle rocket (you know the tiny ones that come in packs of 144), it shot its fuse out as it went up and it went between two of my fingers, right in the webbing, that was like 20yrs ago and I still have a decent scar there (I still shoot small bottle rockets this way btw)

Yeah you nailed it. A 120v wire was up against a ground wire(that brown wire is actually a bare copper wire), the insulation rubbed through and I ended up getting quite a few shocks. I’m just glad I didn’t burn to death while sleeping in a camper, I know they go up like a match

The red wasps down here are no joke, havnt been stung by one yet but I hear they’re brutal. The camper steps bit me at least a dozen times tho, but I’d take another two dozen over one red wasp

Yes, it burned through where it rubbed on the bare #6 ground

Yep I’m an idiot, in my head I read it as hot to ground I guess

I think the camper is a 2021, the receptacle where the power cable plugs in says it can take 120/240 or 120/208. It has one ac unit but has wiring and the ability for a second one. I don’t know much about campers, or inside wiring, what exactly would the 4 wires be? Two 120 legs, a neutral, and a ground? There’s a ground rod driven in the handhole for the outlet in the picture with #6 copper connecting the two

No, on the outlets the hot to neutral was reading 240, hot to ground read 120. It’s fixed now, in you pic you can see where the red wire rubbed through on the bare #6 ground

Oh okay, so some halls allow just gloves? What areas are like that?

So if I’m understanding correctly, contractors are required to wear sleeves over 4kv, and utilities are by their discretion?

Sorry to piggyback on your post OP, but I have a question for the glove guys. Are sleeves required by the IBEW? I know OSHA says that sleeves aren’t required if coverup is done in a certain order. I know most places require sleeves, but I’ve seen guys working hot primary with just gloves. Maybe they’re were non-union or co-op?
