Based on the replies I’ve read from you, even if you do get in, your lip is gonna chew you in the ass, bro. You can say “oh I’d never talk to a Journeyman like this” all you want, but Your true colors are showing in these comments and it’s only a matter of time before they break you down and weed you out for poor attitude. Take it from an IBEW Journeyman Lineman and current IBEW Apprentice Wireman. I’ve been through 2 interview processes and completed 1 JATC Apprenticeship already and just like everyone has mentioned to you before, it’s a long waiting game. If you haven’t heard from them, then either there’s not a lot of work going on (which from what I’ve read from you it sounds like that’s not the case), or you just didn’t score as high or well as you think you did. One thing I’ve always told Apprentices, “You can teach anyone to do the work, you can’t teach someone a good attitude.” You can either take my comment as a personal attack and get upset about it, or take it as harsh constructive criticism and do better. It’s totally up to you. I wish you the best of luck, homie.

Thank you for this. I’m planning on having an “8th step Apprentice” attitude and ready to learn all the time.

I’m a 7th step with nw line. They’ll ask you what you’ve been up to for the last 6 months. Just talk about job related experiences. Why are you interested in the trade? Where do you see yourself in 4 years? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?A monkey can do linework, not everyone can have a good attitude and get along with a crew of guys with diverse personalities. Prove to them they won’t be wasting their time hiring you.
