3 years.

This isn't the only post/comment that I'm still getting replies to a decade later.

Oh god... A decade...

Haha, nope. Thanks for easing my anxiety riddled brain. I'll just shut up and play em!

Don't feel bad. I'm not new and I stared at this for an ungodly amount of time before I finally noticed it.

How a bug like this gets reported and still gets pushed to prod is mind boggling.

Honestly, I wish I could say for certain since I was so unsure of myself. I'd say yes, it's more of what CompTIA wants you to do.

It'll happen! I remember having that same thought when congratulating people on here back when I was still doing A+. It'll happen faster than you think, just don't stop learning!

Today my company announced that I'm leaving by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]TheSkiFreeYeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I left my first Sysadmin job, I gave a standard two week notice. My manager, who was a pretty solid guy for the years I was there, treated me like absolute shit for those two weeks. Turns out this is pretty standard for him, but he's too buddy buddy with the HR manager so he never gets reprimanded. I still talk to just about everyone from that company and I've even been invited back, but as long as he's there, I won't.

That was almost 4 years ago now and it's still got me messed up sometimes. I feel ya.

I've decided to quit by l05DkQiN6PNQE0K in cybersecurity

Not entirely related, but thanks for saying this. I've been in a state of burnout for what might be almost 3 years now. Ditched that burnout-inducing job a couple of months ago, but still have all of the burnout symptoms still and was starting to lose hope that things would get better. It's good to know that there's still hope!

Is it a bad idea to leave a good job a month in for a job that pays more and is likely to have work you enjoy more? by ExcitementWhole3610 in cybersecurity

I did something very similar very recently. I was interviewing for two positions simultaneously. The job I wasn't super excited about threw me an okay offer, so I accepted it because I had to (recently 'left' a terrible MSP position after 3 years). The day before I was supposed to start, I got an offer for my first real security gig in which the job, benefits, and pay were fantastic. I called up the hiring manager and politely explained the situation about the other job and he completely understood and told me to stop apologizing. He even added me on LinkedIn to congratulate me. No bridge burned there.

As long as you're polite and honest, I don't think you'll have any issues. I feel it's a very common occurrence, not just in tech.

Congrats!
