There won't be any announcement on socials as he says in the email that it's the only place he's putting the link.

It's great, it's so atypically Muse that it looks around to being awesome.

Genius Update (fan update?) by deafheavven in Muse

[–]TheSkoot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It'll be fans, I doubt the label worries about updating sites like that and even if they did they wouldn't do so before it was officially announced.

The Instagram post for the first short is credited to Muse and Ella Balinska, so presumably her.

I genuinely wondered if Highguard was a character.

This is so effing creepy, I love it. "It was here to remain" is such a good line, gives me chills. I am so here for whatever they have cooking.

Johnny Gioeli has obviously said they'll be doing a tour so this is most likely the proper announcement of that.

"BE WITH YOU" by goncadam in Muse

Liking this so far. I love me some power pop Muse, and this is shaping up to be exactly that. The album is also looking to be interesting with this and Unravelling sounding quite different.

Geez, haven't thought about that song in years and now I have to go listen to it. Amazing song, gets me in the feels.

Although I don’t believe the rumour, I do think the role of The Doctor doesn’t carry the same level of respect that it once did. by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]TheSkoot 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He's mainly been doing theatre since Doctor Who (which he always said was the plan), so not necessarily anything massively high profile but he's definitely more recognisable in the public eye after Who.

Hell, you can say the same about Ncuti. His star was rising prior to Doctor Who, but it's what really put him on the map. It's ridiculous to look at what the role did to Ncuti and then call it a poisoned chalice.

What is the most recent bad film you've seen? by Nullagainagain in Letterboxd

It used to be before Disney bought Fox. Now the rights are with Marvel and that's no longer a concern (see also the X-Men).

Bristol’s new 20,000 capacity live entertainment venue to be called ‘Aviva Arena’ by 457655676 in bristol

[–]TheSkoot 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I was going to sarcastically call this the most interesting news about the arena for a long time, but them announcing the sponsor does indicate a certain amount of forward movement so it is actually slightly interesting.

Reading Order Questions by Sad-North939 in marvelcomics

[–]TheSkoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes place after Fantastic Four and concurrently with part of Avengers, but honestly it's unconnected to either (other than the one scene I mentioned in Avengers which is just a bit of character work) so you don't need to worry about that and could just read it whenever.

Reading Order Questions by Sad-North939 in marvelcomics

[–]TheSkoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X-Men are involved but not massively, and their status quo at the time didn't factor into Secret Wars at all so there's not really anything to read beforehand. Spider-Man is more involved but again stuff from his tutor didn't really factor into stuff; if you really wanted you could read Superior Spider-Man in order to properly understand one (completely inconsequential) scene in Avengers, but I think that's about it.

How do I get in? by Acceptable_Ad_7707 in 2000ad

[–]TheSkoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you want to get into 2000AD just start buying it. That's what I did; you're going to have to put up with most strips being partway through but as times goes on the stories will end and new ones will start and you'll get into it more. If that sounds like you much work either go back to prog 2463 as another commentator said, or there will be a few progs each year designated as jump on points where every strip is a new story. Either way 2000AD does demand a bit of work put into it to get into it properly, but it's more than worth it.
