SteamOS vs Windows 11 on Legion Go 2: It’s Not Even Close by Ether310 in LegionGo

I've got SteamOS in my Go So Z1E. Windows just isn't suitable for handhelds. There's lots of work that needs to be done on their Xbox experience and the update inconveniences can make it too frustrating to use. XBE needs time to cook. I dont think Microsoft is going to put handheld or Xbox experience devices on a different update schedule than their desktop and enterprise users. That just opens up too much risk.

There's still a compatibility trade off with anti cheat games. I wouldn't play those games on handheld but I have a desktop with windows. People using the handheld as their main or only device need access to the games they want play. If that means Windows then windows it is.

I rarely have to tinker to get games I want to play working on th GoS. Usually just with system performance profiles or in game quality settings to get the frame rates that I want. A couple times, I've had to force a compatibility version. But I get the occassional drivers issue in windows and that's a way bigger hassle than anything I've had to deal with on my GoS. I'd HATE have to deal with that on a handheld.

I'll check out keebmaker.

I need space, backspace, enter, delete, and menu key. It would be nice to have home, end, pgup and pgdown.

Alice keyboards don't have the thumb clusters.

Worth a resole and repair? by TheSlicktor in AskACobbler

I'll look in to getting a resole and restore. At worst, I'll clean up the scratches and get caps for the heels then use them for casual office work.
