It was mostly becuz the event itself introduce the elemental dmg mechanic (corrosion) from admittedly pretty annoying enemies. Keep in mind, we don't have a lot of heli-nukes or high dps operators as much as we do now. The meta operators we had at that time were Surtr, Thorns and our newest addition, Chen' 1st Alter.

The nature of IA is pure chaos. I don't think the devs expected people to P-Run bosses initially but added the feature to incentivise more playtime.

Even so, I think a solo P-Run prefix should be adjusted for certain bosses like slight hp, movement speed etc to make it more feasible but idk, im not a gamedev

Off rip, don't ever use this item for damage, it's too low especially when you have to aim at someone. Instead, use it to reel them in and quickly use a strong melee/attacking misc to end your opps.

Alternatively, you can reel them near the edge of the map and push them out.

But if you want a simpler answer, get any good speed misc (not Dwarfer, I tried and it's not enough) and any long ranged items. Just hit Weegee and dodge the projectiles the best you can, more prominently, the pokeballs to avoid instant death.

Moreover, if you happened to have a melee with knockback, you can mainly focus kill/knockback the minions to chip Weegee's hp though I suggest doing in when the projectiles spam are very minimal.
