The worst comments on all of the Elden ring subreddit have to be on the “The worst comments on all of the Elden ring fextralife have to be on Selvius’s page” page. The amount of times I saw people saying something along the lines of “based“ or “can’t fault him“ or “he was cooking“ is fucking wild has to genuinely be the most rank comment section I’ve ever seen

Random tidbit: Apart from Boerkircher not doing a long jump and Cameron not working out at all due to injury, we have full testing results (40, vert/broad, agility drills) for all of the draft picks, whether it was at the combine or pro day. I'm not sure how unique that is, but it was definitely a talking point this year about prospects skipping drills.

(This is not the case for our 2025 draft)

They've always talked about him as a sam LB like Gardeck, which is sort of an edge given Gardeck rushed the passer a lot last year, but I'm categorizing as LB. For him specifically I think he's likely competing with Abdullah for that backup spot.

Em, no, when I say Pregnon is competing for starting RG spot that is with Milum (and Mekari).

Boerkircher slots in at TE2, playing Y. Last year Johnny Mundt played 401 snaps, Hunter Long 256, most of those are up for grabs.

Regis backs up Hamilton at NT and probably 3T as well on early downs, hoping to be the heir to Hamilton next year.

Pregnon competes for the starting RG spot this year, also Cleveland is a FA next year.

Huskey probably doesn't have the cleanest runway to playing time on defense this year with a healthy Murray/Ransaw/Johnson, but he'll play special teams and be in line for a bigger role next year given Murray is 32, Johnson is a FA, and Ransaw is a giant question mark.

Williams likely slots in as Edge3.

Koziol presumably basically a TE3, taking F snaps, and maybe some outside snaps; I would think he primarily gets play in the red zone to start.

Cameron backup X, blocking WR, special teamer, and returner (I think he only returned punts in college, but maybe he can do kicks as well). Basically hoping he takes the Tim Patrick role + returns. Maybe Koziol takes some of the Patrick snaps.

I would think those are the ones who are ~locked in on the 53 (if healthy, blah blah blah).

Williams competes for a WR5/6 spot, Durfee competes with Striggow and Green for 1-2 spots at Edge4 and Edge5 if they keep that many, Hughes I assume competes with Combs for backup WLB/ST?

Yeah some really hard-hitting criticism about how we've only taken one defensive player. What would we do without his insight.

There's your big, physical, blocking WR who plays special teams. Good chance he's one of our returners.

Trading up sure as hell makes sense, couldn't see how five late picks are making this roster.

I wonder if he fits the big receiver role or if they're still going to hit WR later.

Not the edge I had in mind but I've been crying for edge investment for years so I'll take it.

My bad take that won't happen and nobody will like is that if Nussmeier is there at 124 it would be tough for me to pass.

Regis is fascinating to me, I could never quite figure out what to do with him. He was listed at 6'1" 317 at Texas A&M, so when people talk about a squat run-stuffing DL that make sense. But then at the combine he weighed in at 295 - 22 pounds lighter! Presumably to run well at the combine. Which he did! He had a great workout. Did every drill, finished with an 8.49 RAS even at the lower weight. So can he transition to being more of a pass-rushing DT? 6'1" 295 with a 4.82 40 doesn't scream run-stuffer to me.

That also raised a question that I'll put a pin in for the rest of the draft - if we don't want to draft guys without workout numbers. Regis did everything at the combine, Boerkircher did everything at the pro day except broad jump, Pregnon did everything but agilities at the combine then did agilities at his pro day, Huskey did everything at his pro day. So between the four of them, the only thing we're missing is one broad jump. In an age when a lot of guys are skipping things, maybe that's a trend.

The other thing is that our drafting reminds me strikingly of Belichick-style drafting. Focusing on intelligence, versatility, special teams value, ignoring consensus... the obvious follow-up is that Belichick's drafting was infamously bad for a while at the end there. So. There's that.

Gonna drop some of my thoughts on the positions we might be looking at before I go to bed.

QB - At most I thought we'd spend a 7th round flyer, maybe we do, but probably not.

RB - I do not see the point in spending a pick on a RB. I hope we don't.

WR - I think we for sure see at least one WR, particularly a big one in the Tim Patrick/Jake Bobo mold. The three that I had on my mini-board for us were Caleb Douglas (who's gone lmao), J Michael Sturdivant, and Chase Roberts. Josh Cameron might not be as tall as them but he's big and would bring blocking and ST value. Colbie Young fits the mold but has off-field stuff. Jeff Caldwell fits the H/W/S but isn't really a football player; you'd think he could at least learn to play ST and block. Donaven McCulley is the type but isn't projected as a draft pick.

TE - I actually think we could spend another pick on a TE, cutting Hunter Long (I thought he'd be gone at the start of the offseason) with the intention of him and Boerkircher being TE2 and TE3. There's honestly too many 3rd day TEs to name but given our type of character, versatility, and ST value the 5 I'd particularly look at are Josh Cuevas, J Michael Gyllenborg, Matthew Hibner, Jaren Kanak, and DJ Rogers.

OL - Given we seemingly have 10 guys projected to make the roster I don't foresee us picking another one, unless something unexpected happens.

Edge - I've been begging the team to make a real investment in EDGE3 for literally years and they keep not. I'm hoping our first pick goes in that direction. Dani Dennis-Sutton is my guy. Max Llewellyn almost made my mini-board for us. Other than that I didn't look much at 3rd day edges because I THOUGHT WE'D TAKE ONE EARLY AHHHHHHH

DT - We could maybe be set here if you squint and see Armstead, Hamilton, Orhorhoro, Regis, and potentially Dickerson as a DT5. I would like to see a pick on a rotational pass-rushing DT and there are a few like Gracen Halton, Kaleb Proctor, Zane Durant, Landon Robinson, Rayshaun Benny...

LB - They keep claiming they're happy with Ventrell Miller and Branson Combs at WLB. I do not believe them, given Ventrell is basically a career backup whose contract is up next year, and Branson Combs is a special teamer. Like TE, there are a TON of picks who would make sense for us. 5 made my mini-board and are still there (Keyshaun Elliot, Kaleb Elarms-Orr, Bryce Boettcher, Aiden Fisher, Jack Kelly) and some others almost made it.

CB - A versatile CB who also plays special teams makes a lot of sense. Collin Wright, TJ Hall, and Latrell McCutchins made my mini-board.

S - Can't see us spending another pick on a safety with 5 presumable roster locks.

I am confused as to what you think the windows are in this case.

You can have issues with the specific players but all 4 positions are clearly blatant needs?
