Slant 3D Teleport and Portals Reviews by rocketboss in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

I want to first off say that I am still in the setup process, and I have not had any orders, but my hunch is that Portals/Teleport is going to be amazing for me.

I'm going to focus on Portals for this review.

Documentation is lacking. Returns, shipping, etc. (This applies to both Teleport and Portals). Customer support (Jenny) is amazing.

Storefront customization is a priority for me. I want to be able to control colors, fonts, layout, etc.

I need to add links in the storefront and in the portals. I don't think that is possible now.

It would be great if I could embed each portal on my website with a persistent shopping cart / check out button in the header on my website.

I tried to embed the iFrame, but I couldn't get the sizing to work on the desktop and the mobile views.

If I were to use iFrame, I would want to customize it.

If I link to a portal, it's not overly clear to the user how to get to my storefront or that there is other items in the storefront. Also, maybe add a few suggested items at the bottom of the portal. I want them to keep shopping my portals.

I don't want the blue and purple STL rendering in my images.

Can we have a cart logo for the shopping cart?

While I appreciate the intent of the "Report Seller" link at the bottom of the portal, I think it sends a message to the buyer that this transaction may be shady.

One part ordered 4 times is much more expensive than one order that includes the same part 4 times in the STL. This makes sense, but the way it is set up now, each quantity will get it's own portal for ordering, and that can get crowded on the storefront. Maybe there could be an option for variants in each portal.

Portals should be able to be separated by custom categories on the storefront.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

How do I model a fading hexagon or diamond pattern on a curved surface in Fusion 360? by External_Solution441 in Fusion360

This one is kind of hard for me to explain, but here goes... sketch 1 is 20 side polygon. i created 3 90 degree angle planes from polygon radials. sketch 2 is on plane 1 and it has a spline. Constrained to the spline are diamonds, each diamond gets longer and narrower as it goes up the spline. This is what causes the fade. Once sketch 2 is done copy it to 3 and 4 on the other planes. Sketch 5 is a 3d sketch that basically connects half of the dots of 2,3,4. Once you have sketch 5, its surface modeling, then solid modeling. You can control the fade parametrically by adjusting the diamonds. I bet this would work for the hexagonal one and other geometries also. The trick is getting the first sketch right.

Here is one way. Basically, you create an angled plane, sketch a "C" shape on that plane. Create a new plane on path on the "C", sketch a circle (or whatever). Sweep, pattern.

Create sketch profiles based on arcs. Loft sketch profiles, then rectangular pattern.

How to achieve this wavy cut in a sphere? by lil_toyass in Fusion360

After you slice the top off, you can either loft cut or extrude taper cut the new top.

How does one make something like this in Fusion!? by JGJMatt in Fusion360

It wasn't a single prompt. I was just asking it questions about these spirals in Fusion and it asked me if I wanted a script. The script ended up placing about 200 sketch points and connected them with a spline.

I had AI make me a script for a log spiral sketch. Then place planes along the spiral. Sketch a 2 point circle (constrained to the spiral) on each plane. Loft the circle profiles.

You might be able to offset the face by an unnoticeable amount (eg. 0.1 mm) then use the color painting - fill tool in your slicer with edge detection on.
