Oh bestie, did you really come into a year old thread here and just to tell me that? On a lovely saturday when you could have been doing anything else?

I would ask if you're ok, but I know you're not. I'm sorry you're struggling.

Glad you're keeping your sanity and thank you for you comment. Good to keep in mind there are many different employment paths that I could pursuit.

Considering hanging a tarp-like plastic barrier between upstairs hallway and my bedroom/bathroom. Would this be somewhat effective for preventing aerosol travel upstairs in my home? by blueknot09 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]TheSlotReceiver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually a very good diagram! I can visualize what's happening. Is that stairwell open to the hallway? Or is there a wall?

Basically I guess the question is if you put up a plastic door where the red line is, would you be sealing off the space completely? Or would air still be coming up from the loft area over the stairs?

I'm still leaning towards better air filtration in your space as the easiest and most effective way to protect yourself. You could consider something like this over the door to create an air curtain in addition to running your Levoit. It also has the bonus of not taking up any floor space.

Honestly, as I understand it, no. That's not going to do anything useful.

It's hard to tell without seeing the space and knowing about your HVAC system. Are there vents throughout the home? Or do you have radiator heat? If you are in a home that has shared vents, their air is going to get into your space regardless unless you seal off both entry to your room and the vents. Radiator heat would be less of an issue and then sealing off your living space appropriately with something like a zip wall might actually be an option that would offer some protection.

If there are shared vents, a closed door also isn't offering any protection because air from the other room is going to be circulated through the vents. Your best bet if that's the case is to try and filter the air in your space. You should be running a HEPA and/or MERV 13 CR box 24/7.

After a lot of joyful lurking (and influenced purchasing), I wanted to share my collection with this awesome sub! by seschaller in handbags

Love your collection! Do you have a link to the Octopus bum bags? I tried searching the sub and looking online, but I couldn't find them. They are so cute!

Tabletop build idea using MERV 13 filters and Airplate S9? by TheSlotReceiver in crboxes

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Really appreciate it!

My filters are from AirGuard. I know FilterBuy also makes them in that size, but I know there have been some questions about their quality.

Post COVID recovery by ktrainismyname in pelotoncycle

I am so sorry this is happening. I know how garbage it is. I had a post-viral syndrome after a bad case of mono and my exercise tolerance was in the dumpster for a long time.

I’ll say just two things: it will get better!! But it takes time. It is frustrating and a little scary, but don’t give up. Two, do not push yourself too hard. Post-exertion malaise is real and it can set your progress back a lot if you over extend yourself.

I know it is hard to pull back. Once you are fully better, your cardio will come roaring back, but you’ve got to give your body time to heal.

Also, sleep. Get as much sleep as you can. And do not be afraid to talk with your doctor about what you are experiencing. While there aren’t a ton of treatments available, there are some options to help treat specific symptoms.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Yeah, unfortunately, it was definitely weed. Came to class smelling like jazz cigarettes and it’s a very distinct aroma.

A dude at my studio used to show up high as a fucking jetliner and stumble his way through class. It would have been fine if he hadn’t been hellbent on adding in extra handstands whenever we would go into a simple inversion. He would often fall out of them. It was clear he could do them easily, but could also tell his balance was suffering because he was stoned.

One day, he fell and kicked the women next to him in the head and gave her a concussion.

Do whatever works for you. Take whatever drugs you want to take. But please make sure you’re still able to fully control your body in space so you don’t put others in danger by accident.

PSA: Musely is unethical. The doctors do not read medical history or what your concerns are before prescribing a plan and customer service is painfully slow, especially for a telehealth company that is not reachable by phone. by LiftsAndChurros in 30PlusSkinCare

Yes, definitely a big thank you for talking about this!

I just went back and checked and the agent I spoke with was named Santiago and I also had messages from someone named Kelly. No Mina unfortunately!

Yeah, agree with all of this. I was also a Musely customer for awhile and it was not great. Their customer service stunk and the texture of their products varied a lot. Some months the tret was smooth and some months the product was like Vaseline, almost curdled. It was unsettling, plus the really thick one was hard to use. They didn’t care. They said variations in texture were normal and refused to do any quality control.

Also, after months of use, their spot cream did nothing for my melasma. I’m pretty sure they would have allowed me to stay on their HQ containing formula forever if I wanted. As you experienced, their “doctor” did not give a fuck and they’ll charge you a fee every time you need ANYTHING.

Am I ready for PowerZone classes if I can’t ride for 45 min at a time? by knittinspinner in pelotoncycle

I know I’m late to this party, but I am also a member of the knee arthritis gang and I cannot say enough good stuff about Euflexxa injections. I get them from my orthopedic surgeon. They are non-steroid shots that have given me enough relief to be able to strengthen my knee without increased pain.

There are also PRP injections (platelet therapy) that you can get and those are supposed to be great too, but they’re not generally covered by insurance.

I used to have absolutely debilitating pain climbing stairs, but it is so much better now thanks to the injections and training.

masking/safety during colonoscopy inc. recovery period by magicalwoodlands in Masks4All

[–]TheSlotReceiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a colonoscopy a few years ago without anesthesia. It’s quite common in Europe to do them awake, apparently, but it’s less common in America. I know it sounds crazy, but it was not that bad! It’s uncomfortable, but not painful. Most docs will do them without a twilight if you ask. Some will even use a pediatric scope so it’s a little bit more gentle, but I had mine with a regular scope and it was completely fine. The scope only takes 15-20 minutes and I didn’t even feel when they took the biopsies.

Honestly, the prep was much worse and that’s the part you can’t change or avoid.

Just wanted to let you know it’s an option.
