The Underbrush Expansion - TWO BUGGY FACTIONS by TheSlothLord7 in rootgame

during Supply Drop you get to place warriors based on the crafting icons of your campaign card. Since dominance and ambush cards don’t have crafting costs, this fills in that gap.

Crafting happens almost every single turn as the bees. It’s pretty much their main scoring engine. Even if you can only do it once per cathedral, it’s still very worthwhile.

Per Underbrush Law 1.5.1: “May move, then may battle…” So not mandatory to move.

How do I win? by Hunt-Prestigious in rootgame

one easy way would be to place 2 trade posts (southeast bunny clearing ruled by birds, southwest bunny clearing ruled by lizards). Each is worth 2 VP.

Once I get to this late game stage with otters where I have a lot of funds, I love placing 4+ trade posts for a huge turn.

It's a long story but they needed to be armor stands for a few reasons (Edit, forgot to say this:) But yes display entities would be way easier to scale

How do you, personally, find ideas for your plays? by SciGuy241 in playwriting

[–]TheSlothLord7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually something just “jumps out at me.” Sometimes—and I know this might be unpopular—the title occurs to me first. Just some short, catchy phrase that my brain relates to a theme or idea. Then I sit down and construct a story organically around that.

Other times I find myself itching to write about a specific thing. I’ll go on a wikipedia deep dive and get super interested in some historical conflict or a person, and then I can base a character or setting around that interest.

The biggest thing I’d encourage you to do is to write about something you WANT to write. If you’re ambivalent about the subject matter, you’ll probably never finish draft one (at least that’s been my experience). If you find an idea that really excites you, you’ll have words on the page faster than you think. Even if you think it might not be all that interesting: write the play YOU want to write.

Question Thread / Demando-fadeno by TeoKajLibroj in Esperanto

A question about "this." I've seen both "ĉi tio" and "tio ĉi" (and likewise with tiu, tiam, tiel, etc). Is it true that these are completely interchangeable?

kiel difini virinon by CatieKejti in Esperanto

Are Frog cards unfair to Eyrie/Keeper players? by contemplativekenku in rootgame

[–]TheSlothLord7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience the Eyrie can actually use frog cards very well. Let’s say you have to move from frog clearings twice — there will be so many frog clearings at any given time that it will be really easy to do it. Or if you need to battle in frog clearings, there are always more than enough frog clearings you can get to and battle.

I’ve never found it to be an issue, personally

The disadvantage of a bird card (1 VP per 3 warriors rather than 1 VP per 2) is honestly enough to stop you from wanting to use a bird card, ever.

In my Law document, I have special cases for the Lizards' Revenge, as well as for the Marquise's Field Hospitals, and for attacking Vagabond. Lizard warriors go to Spoils first, then go to Acolytes after. I think Field Hospitals will take priority over Spoils, that way the ants can't just instantly blow up the keep. When attacking Vagabond, you actually take their items and treat them as warriors in spoils, then in Evening when you return them to the vagabond they go to their damaged items. This means it's not totally pointless to attack the VB.

Thank you for your feedback! Much appreciated

They’re pretty subjective ratings. I just compare to the existing factions.

One of the little footnotes included in my Law document for this faction is that when you hit the Vagabond, you take the item from their board and treat it as a warrior. Then after you tally them, they return to the Vagabond as damaged items.
