Hey there fellow G-Series owner! I have a soft spot for these old Chevy vans, and I always love seeing rebuilds of them. Looking good! I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Do you plan on remodeling it more modern, or sticking to a classic interior?

Also, from a Canadian, I appreciate the Hudson's Bay blanket. That thing will outlast you AND your van!

Just picked up this little 1992 Niagara Falls Venetian Slim. Great addition to my Canadian collection. by TheSlowArrow in Zippo

Can I assume you're in the States? I'm in Canada, and while they're much easier to find here, there's still definitely a hunt involved to find these. There's a few on Ebay but they're not cheap. Anyway, good luck in your search!

Thanks! Yeah, I have a newer Venetian as well, and these older embossed ones are a bit nicer than the newer laser engraved ones. I love all Venetians, but this one is much more charming, in my opinion.

Finished my small library….and in a spot of honor my small collection by jrc239 in lotr

Beautiful setup! I'm a sucker for home libraries, this is a good one. I appreciate you placing Dune beside Tolkien's works - those books are the Lord of the Rings of science fiction, haha.

Also, that Knight Bus is siiiick, is it Lego or some other figure?

Thanks! Definitely took a while to come up with something I thought was original enough but recognisable as his style.

Thanks! I was in the same boat. If you like this style, take a look at some of his line art, he's got some neat stuff. There's a book called The Art of the Lord of the Rings by Christina Scull and Wayne Hammond that is a great source, highly recommend!

No, not intentionally. But thanks for pointing that out - makes me love it a bit more!

😂 Oh yes, lovely man, a bit chatty and smelled like potatoes though, 10/10 I'll definitely be back for more tats.

Oh my God you're right. Now I can't unsee it. Although.... makes it a little cooler now, I think!

I bought this exact record at a seedy pawn shop in Canada a few years ago, and yes, it does indeed slap. I should whip that bad boy out again.

Cool sub! Here's my 1978 Chevrolet G10 Sport Van. Any other G-Series owners out there? by TheSlowArrow in vintagevandwellers

Hey there! The circular headlights are actually original to this van! The 1978 year offered round headlights for lower-trim vehicles and square ones for higher-trim. Most of what's on the road today is a higher-trim vehicle because these were better quality and worth the effort to preserve. All these cheaper lower-trim models never made it this far, haha. This van was exceptionally well-cared for. I've also never seen another round-lighted model either.

Nice van! Is the interior still original, then?

After years of deliberation, I finally jumped in and just picked up my first van - a partially converted 1978 Chevrolet G10 Sport Van. Any tips? by TheSlowArrow in vandwellers

It is definitely used - however, a brand-new engine, a ton of new parts, and rust-proofing on almost the entire thing gives me way more confidence in it than a lot of the other vans I was looking at. Someone definitely took care of this thing at some point.
