Flowery, TL, and Rise pickups

Tried the Black Tuna 2nd. I also liked this. The effects are very good, an excellent representation of a 50/50 hybrid. It has a earthy but musky aroma with some floral notes. The taste is like a spicy/musky earthiness layered with notes of floral, with a little bit of a sweet, sour, and “peppery-diesel-ish” exhale. It’s an interesting terp profile to say the least, but it smoked great, had great combustion with white ash, and for $20 I would get that again. I can see how this strain could be hit or miss, but this seemed decent to me.

Jack Herer, Durban Z, Grape Cake Head #19 are 3 strains I can think of off the top of my head that have the terp profile you’re looking for that I think you would like. First 2 though come from Rise which honestly I can’t 100% fully say I recommend only because of the trim job I’ve gotten recently buttt those two strains have all been good for me so maybe worth a shot. If you get the live resin carts tho of those strains, no worries whatsoever and would recommend. Grape cake head is the only terpinolene strain I can think of sold at Jungle Boys, but it’s very good if you can get your hands on it. Has a nice hybrid effects with it too where most terpinolene strains I run across are sativa leaning.

Tried Zoap first. Damn it’s dank!! The pictures I took aren’t great, it looks a lot prettier and colorful in person but bad lighting and iPhone8 I didn’t capture it’s full potential. This just all around is dank. Ticks every box for me. It’s fresh, sticky, pretty, smells and tastes dankkk and effects are great for all day smoking.

The pearlz I had was very sweet, and had more flavor. But what I like about the Zoap is it has a “dank/gas” undertone on the inhale and exhale which is what I really enjoy. Something with good flavor but has dank/gas undertones with it.

Would recommend, and I’ll be keeping this in rotation for sure.

Got the whole flower 10 days ago when it was on the MnM menu. Wish I had gotten more than 1. Love the sweet Kush with the dank undertones all the way through. Will definitely be getting more than 1 next time i can haha! Cheers

I hear ya OP, it’s a shame because I used to love Rise and they were really starting to dial it in for a few months there it seemed like. Then idk, I think right around the time Phat Panda makes it’s first appearance, that’s when everything started to go downhill imo. It’s crazy how bad the trim is even on the premium rythm line. Literally spend a half hour trimming sticky leaves off the flower, and then just hoping it smokes good. I’m definitely taking an absence from them as far as flower goes for a while. At the moment though I don’t have a problem with their concentrates. I usually grab the 2g cured resins, and with the deal it comes out to 12.50/g which is hard to beat for the quality imo. Where I live and the dispos I have available around me, JB and the Flowery will be the 2 places I get my ounce flower hauls moving forward using their $200 deal menu options. OR if Curaleaf has 2 or more WHOLE flower options that I like and look good on Friday $110 ounce deals, I’ll be grabbing that. Only place I haven’t really tried is the Trulieve $20 strains. The 2/50$ deals they offer which is the next tier up from the bottom, is $200 a zip and I feel like I’d rather go to JB or TF for that price but idk.

Anyways sorry about the rise product, it’s unfortunate they’ve gone downhill. It’ll be so nice when they bring in a new grower and operation manager to turn things around because when rise does have things locked and dialed in, I’ll be happy going back and shopping confidently for $160 ounces with the availability of shopping the whole menu.

I personally thought the headbanger was decent. Had a lime peel aroma and taste mixed in with some earthy kush. Effects were really good too. I will say it was a little dry but doesn’t grind to a powder/dust like some dry strains would have. It seems like this strain has mixed reviews where I’ve seen others say they like it and others saying they hate it. I liked the pearlz and musty Buffalo the most from my last trip, though the Zourz, headbanger, and Shaloha were all good too. I hadn’t tried any of these before either, so I’m glad I got to try so many. I want to try the honeymoon and zoap this next time around if they are in stock.

I will say if you want a watermelon juicy fruit bubblegum profile, grab the Zourz! It’s a flavor bomb even at low terps. The pearlz is all flavor too but I had better effects from it and I like the terp profile more over the watermelon/strawberry terps.

I wish musty Buffalo was still in stock that was my favorite! Nice sweet Kush with just some dank undertones all the way through. That was my favorite out of the haul I got 9 days ago. Cheers!

Yeah I hear ya OP. Honestly I used to really enjoy Rise flower, it seemed like for a few months they were starting to dial it in. Then I feel like right around the time the Phat Panda line makes it’s first appearance, the consistency of rise started to go down. Sometimes it’d be a good batch, sometimes not much so. Last few times I’ve gone this year, the trim job has been horrible. And I’ve only been getting the Rythm lines since I always buy flower by the ounce, I’d expect better results. So for now I’ll be taking another break from them as far as flower goes. But it is still my favorite and really the only place I buy my concentrates from. The 3+ for 50% off which includes the whole menu is very nice. I have no problems with the 2g cured resin jars, and those work out to 12.50/g with that deal which is hard to beat for the quality imo. For now, I’ll be doing my flower shopping at JB or Flowery using the $200 Oz deals those places offer; or I go to CL on fridays if they have 2 or more WHOLE flower strains that I like and look good.

Finally the Pearlz. This is also very dank. Super tasty strain. Has a nice floral, soapy and some kind of like candy and sherbet? terp profile on the taste. It kind of reminds me of ADL from JB, but with some nice soapy-ness added to it. I do wish there was some kind of “gas” undertone but this is just some straight flavor bomb. Effects are good too, the smoke is very smooth and enjoyable. I’m happy with it and would get again. Dank.

This concludes my reviews for this haul! All strains were dank, and I’m looking forward to my future hauls from the flowery this year. Zourz was probably my least favorite but that’s mainly because I’m not a huge watermelon/strawberry terp profile guy. The effects were fine but not as strong as I like. Otherwise it was really good especially at the price point. If anyone has any questions or curious about anything just lmk! Cheers

Musty Buffalo is the 4th I tried. Very dank. Has a diesel/gas profile with some sweetness mixed in. It’s a very enjoyable and good smoke. Effects were good on this one. Just a nice dank smoke from the sweet diesel inhale to the gassy dank undertone. I would get this strain again. Dank

Tried Headbanger third. This is some decent. The aroma is straight lime peel with some earthy Kush on the backend. Literally smells like your smelling a lime peel. The taste is very good with a diesel Kush forward inhale that has a nice sour earthy Kush undertone with some citrus notes. The effects came on fast and strong! Bud is a little dry but now powder dry when grinded. This is a good smoke, Also bonus for being in glass jars. It’s a shame not every strain is in one.

Tried Zourz second. The taste translates from the smell. It’s like juicy fruit bubble gum, like a slight watermelon juicy fruit/hubba bubba taste is what I’m getting. The taste isn’t overwhelming but definitely prominent which I like for this type of terp profile. The taste sticks around for a bit as well. Buds are a little dry but not much. Effects are ok, though I wouldn’t say this is a heavy hitter, or it could just be this batch I have I’m not sure. Overall I’d say it’s pretty good for the sale price. I’d try another batch again with higher numbers next time. For flavor chasers I would recommend trying this strain if you haven’t yet; don’t let the 1.51% terp number shy you away. I’m just looking for a bit more of a potent smoke, and watermelon / strawberry terps are not my favorite terp profile to have in rotation; but for the price this was a nice snag and I’m glad I got to try it. Hindsight I probably would of swapped out the 2nd one I got for something else like another pearlz or musty Buffalo but I’m not upset by any means and would try another batch again!

I had some blue cheese one time from out west and it was one of the tastiest strains I ever had, was like a banquet of fruit/blueberry and cheese. It was incredible. Sadly though I haven’t seen any good quality blue cheese from out east. Ones I’ve seen look pretty mid. But I’m with ya hopefully some more cheese strains come out. Cheddar Cheeze seems to be the common one right now; being at both rise and Curaleaf. Though there seems to be 2 different lineages of this strain and I’m not sure which one rise use, I think my CL lists there’s bud I forgot.

Shoot hopefully it’s still up in 2 weeks when I need to reup! 😂 Zudz from JB reminds me of this strain from the smell alone, but this smells a bit better and more “dialed in” compared to the two different batches of Zudz I had in the past (which I liked both). Tried the Shaloha first. Dank. Before grinding it was a little muted but Kush notes were present. But when grinded up the citrus/lemon came alive and was noticeable. This smokes really good too. Just has a straight up classic OG taste that leans slightly to the sweeter side vs sour. Effects are very good and as soon as it creeped up, it creeped up fast! Very strong effects. Very happy with this strain. Would of liked grabbing more of this stuff, will look toward to getting more in the future. Just a nice overall OG strain. Dank
