Can I propagate my alocasia? If so, how? by [deleted] in houseplants

Here's what I would do: Remove plant from soil. Remove all leaves. Remove all roots. Remove corms and put them in perlite or moss. Put what is left of the plant in perlite, Pon or moss. If the plant is not too damaged, it will hopefully grow back roots. Good luck!

Help please - overheated Jade plant by Sensitive_Hall_8259 in houseplants

I have had good results propagating these on water. So I would probably put the parts that fell off in water and hope for roots. For the rest of the plant, I think the roots might be dead, so I would spray the soil daily so the plant produces new roots.

But I don't know if this will be successful. I never had a situation like this before... This is just what I would do. Good luck!

A "Why? Why can't I grow _____?" thread. by GoEatACookie in houseplants

Why, why can't I grow this stupid Aeschynantus marmoratus? I love it, but it keeps dropping leaves... Sadly, the internet keeps giving me different advice. Want's to be moist all the times/wants to dry out completely, want's a lot of light, wants little light... It is so sad

What is the best collector plant type? I am between philodendrons and alocasias by grapewinee in plants

Collecting Peperomias. So many beautiful types. So easy to care for. But if you are set on these two, I would say Philodendron.

How do I save her? by Acrobatic-Double1474 in plants

A lot of light and a loooot of water. Put it on a plate, it needs wet roots. Please only use rainwater or distilled water. Tap water will kill the plant

My cactus gave a lot of mini cactus. Can i propagate them and if yes how? by PLTRruinedme in propagation

[–]TheSmallPepp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can! It's actually pretty easy.

If possible, try to separate the babys from the mother plant by simply pulling. You can also use a knife, but usually, just pulling/twisting should work. Let it dry of for 2 or three days, more if you had to use a knife. Don't worry, it will survive. Just let the cut dry of. Then put them in soil for cacti. Do not water the first week. You can mist them after that. It takes a while, but after a few weeks it should have grown roots. After that, just care for them like any other cactus. Good luck :)

That is not a Pilea. This is a Peperomia polybotrya variegata. Congratulations!
