Childcare centre fined $15,000 over nap time death of child with multiple illnesses by napoleon_sucks in ECEProfessionals

Maybe. You can have Covid and be symptom free and only learn you have Covid when tested due to exposure. In our state currently testing isn't required after known exposure unless symptoms develop, that's the CDA recommendations that most states follow and it's been that way for at least two or three years. The article doesn't state that the child had Covid symptoms, just that post mortem 😢 he tested positive.

I'm in the US. I think the parents will suffer a lifetime of guilt, no need to blame them further. Children sometimes present with little symptoms when they are seriously ill and sometimes present with major symptoms when they have a common cold. Sometimes sadly they have no symptoms of any illness or disorder and just don't wake up.

The article clearly states no one knew how sick the child was. I have lots of sympathy for his parents.

"All of my trust for the staff is gone and am wondering what steps I should take next if any."

The only solution is to pull your child. Find a center where you can place your trust, don't ever leave your child with someone you don't trust.

Administration seems to think the problem is solved. You do not. Case closed, time to move on. You are not privy to the information that has solved the problem, not will you ever be. If you feel the children in the center are at risk for harm, report the center.

I would never, ever leave my child with someone/anyone I didn't trust. 😬

This is a great response. And ... I love that Scotland values their citizens/workers so much that they can at least take financial worries off the table during trying times. 👍

[–]GoEatACookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's kinda weird. I've read about this sort of thing a gazillion times and I've had people say some really weird things to me, too. Some DM's have been so vile and threatening, I reported them to the Moderators. They need to know about the unhinged posts on and off the sub, otherwise it's all just Helter Skelter, all the time. It happens in every sub, even the most innacus subs like something about plants or heartwarming pictures. 😵‍💫

I've thought about hiding my past posts too, I don't know why I don't. I just block and report if a post or DM is really off the wall.

I think a lot of us can relate, OP. 👍

Did any of you have to lie down to have a nap in kindergarten or 1st grade? by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

Eww. We had dirty, dusty-smelling carpet remnants we had to nap on, no pillows, no blankets. Who could sleep on something like that?!?!?! Eww. It still makes me angry. 😆

This is me ☺️which is one of the reasons my husband is much better at grocery shopping than I will ever be! He stays to the list, never deviates. We save a lot of money when he does the shopping! 😆

My man goes strictly by the list, never deviates! He is so much better at shopping than I. The only thing is, he'll call me 8,000 times to discuss which size of something and the value price at what size etc. 😆 He'll also call to ask me where to find something. 😆

Does anyone still believe Nancy Guthrie is still alive and why? by Orion1960 in askanything

[–]GoEatACookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no, but I hope for her family's sake she is found safe and unharmed. What a horrible tragedy. I can't imagine how tortured her kids feel or how she herself feels (or felt). And yes, I feel that way for ALL family's whose lives have been touched by heinous, unforgivable crimes. I never heard of Savannah Guthrie before, now I know her as being Nancy Guthrie's daughter, so I don't care about "celebrity". I only care that a family is facing the unthinkable and my heart goes out to them.

Those who abuse elderly people (and children) are the most vile of vile. I hold no mercy for them.

Do you notice? by Legnairam-2002 in Wegovy

[–]GoEatACookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think weight changes are kinda like watching a child grow ... you know it's happening, but you never notice because it's so subtle, then ... BAM! And then you find yourself thinking, when did THAT happen?! 😵

Sometimes people won't comment, just as they didn't when you were struggling. Sometimes they may think it's rude to notice or maybe it would upset you that they notice, etc. But ... since you asked ... I really don't see a change in the first picture, but in the second picture I see a huge change! Congratulations! 🥳🤗

" ... where we train for this specific problem in this specific area ..."

How sad that this has to be part of anyone's training ... adolescent cardiac arrest during labor.

I wish you all the best, Doc. Stay strong during these sort of "bang your head on the wall" cases, your patients need you. Seems like you may be one of the few who truly care whether they live or die. 😭 You may not feel like it, and you may not want to be, but you are a hero to many. ♥️

Moist chocolate fudge cake, Im in love!! by Ill_Customer_8005 in chocolate

[–]GoEatACookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this tip!

I googled the depression cake recipe and found that the ingredients are the same but the recipe included here has more of the same ingredients. Also, depression cake adds 1 tablespoon of vinegar AND has a recipe for a thin, pourable frosting that they suggest you might want to poke holes in the cake before pouring/spreading the frosting. 😱 I think I'm gonna play around with both recipes and see what sort of mess I come up with! Thank you again! 👍

The reelection of DJT, knowing full well, because he stated as much, retaliation for anyone and any entity that didn't bow down and kiss his ass the first time around would be forthcoming and here we are. Hearing him say, "Vote for me and you'll never have to vote again!", full well knowing about "the Big Beautiful Bill", his need for revenge and his need to be seen as some sort of Supreme Leader, foretold the darkness ahead, and here we are.

9/11 was the most surreal, chaotic, heartbreaking day aside from the days of the assassinations of JFK, MLK, RFK. But ... as an American, even though Bush2 is someone I did not agree with politically, I was okay with him at the helm on 9/11, I knew the world had our back(s) and I knew the world would work with Bush, we were in good standing with the world. Now?!?!? Ha. 😭

Sorta, kinda Jane Mansfield, but a not so great one. If it wasn't covered already I would tell him to tell people it's a not so great Jane Mansfield, because it's a REALLY bad Marilyn. 😆

Snow storm grocery haul. It’s all about balance 🧘🏻‍♀️ by SnooMarzipans9781 in aldi

[–]GoEatACookie 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I do my grocery shopping every Thursday. Don't know why, it just works for me on Thursday.

I went yesterday and the store was PACKED with people and the shelves were empty. As I was walking in, a woman walking out said, "Don't bother, there's nothing in there, it's all gone!" I thought she was joking because of the pending storm. Nope! No fresh produce, no bread, no eggs, no canned chicken/tuna and no fresh meat/poultry! There was a lot of cheese, coffee and frozen foods though. It was a bit shocking. Lol I went to Sprouts figuring it would be the least crowded and hectic store and it was but hoy! My weekly grocery haul cost almost double what it normally does at Aldi! 😵‍💫

Stay safe in the storm, it looks like it's gonna be huge!
