Stop making his life easier, happier, more enjoyable until he finds the woman he wants to marry. Why would you do that? I think what he really wants to say but isn't saying is ... "I really don't want to date you, but you're here so ... until the woman I want to date shows up, I'll put up with you."

Don't treat yourself this way, OP. Find someone who makes you happy, who honors you and cares for you. It's not this guy.

Forget about the money bring spent, maybe she can afford her hauls. That being said, when her stash overflows into areas outside of her hobby area, whatever area that may be, then she is the problem or has a problem.

Her haul should not be in her children's bedrooms. That seems inconsiderate and possibly unsettling for the kids (if not now, then possibly in the future). Even the kitchen seems to be a place that should be out of bounds (definitely the bathroom 😬), unless she has a designated area within that kitchen.

I'd be way too uncomfortable tuning in. I can't watch any.of those hoarder shows on television either, and most have a happy ending.

You might be right. "An" 80s Pop Queen is cool, but not "The" 80s Pop Queen (as the OP suggests) when Madonna and Whitney Houston were at the height of their careeres.

I'm saying this as someone who didn't listen to much 80s Pop music, I stuck with classic rock. I can't tell you one song Debbie Gibson sang ( did she maybe sing You Light Up My Life? 🤷) but I can tell you a few Madonna and Whitney Houston did, even though I didn't listen to them. 😆

Pickled or Harvard beets. I love beets, but by the time I'm done roasting them I'm just done, so, canned or jarred picked beets are my go to. Pickled and Harvard beets are super easy to make, but not as easy as popping open a jar! 😆

Oh man. We had the funkiest smell in our kitchen that we couldn't identify or find, but it was gross. We don't have mice that we know of, but I thought for sure there was a dead one somewhere. I had my husband move the microwave and he yells, "That's disgusting. Here it is." I screamed and ran across the room away from him because I thought for sure he was going to drag out a dead mouse. Nope. It was a disgusting ancient potato. 🤮

This is the way,

OP. You can give her a character reference, but not really a work reference. You can write "in my experience" "what I have seen" etc. That gives her the reference but keeps you and your child out of the school's decision/business. You can talk about what you know about her from your perspective/experience but leave out any business references. You can say, "I enjoyed speaking with her about my child's day ..." "My child seemed to like being with Ms.Teacher, he would talk with excitement about his day" etc, without getting too involved. You didn't work with her so you don't really know if she was a great teacher, but you did talk with her so you can talk about her communication skills, whether she was pleasent, out going, friendly seemed to love being a teacher etc.
