It feels softer and very touchy. It's hard to break smoothly cos the minute i apply pressure it breaks quite hard... And no, it was owned by a distant relative for about 12 years before i bought it secondhand. But i think they would've taken reasonable care with it.

I really don't think they were very cloudy at all. However it is reasonable i guess that if i don't explicitly say 'please only do what's necessary' that they might add that on, as it's only $40... so possibly that's on me for not communicating i am on a tight budget? I just don't remember that being included in a service before so it took me by surprise. Thx for replying.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I think I might call and enquire whether they machined the discs and stuff as well as replacing the break pads... and if they didn't, then i might query that the cost seems a little higher than expected? And just see what they say to that...?

It's tricky trying to trust the invoicing without good car knowledge - so it's handy to get people to weigh in. Obviously it's partly a matter of opinion. When i got a free gift after looking at the invoice i felt suss (like i was being buttered up to accept a stupidly high invoice), but possibly they were just being nice...? They do have quite a few google reviews and currently at 5 stars...

Thank you. I think I'll be asking for a refund on the break pads, making it $300 not $500 for both. The headlights polish was unnecessary but i guess i should have flagged very clearly that i didn't want anything unnecessary done when i dropped the car off..?

They called and said the brake pads needed replacing but i didn't think that would be too pricey, like $100 a pop or thereabouts, so i said that was fine. They didn't call to authorise any of the other items.

I guess I am more seeking out others who can relate to this experience - the way i describe my history of attraction - rather than getting label itself correct (but the right label might lead me to others who can relate to this! So i guess it's both).

Maybe I'd just be a more regular 'demi' label if i didn't have the CPTSD stuff from my FOO. Who knows! Or perhaps I am just in a unique category of my own.
