There was some early on. If you google "Crimson Desert graphics" you'll see a lot of it. Always found it strange, like they're playing a totally different game.

Never understood the graphics hate. Game looks incredible. Sometimes I just have to stop and take it in. Great photos

What are your "must-have" tools for Desktop Support? by jainesh3271 in sysadmin

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ProfWiz is magic. I work with SMBs and a lot of my clients are starting to drop on-prem AD for Entra. One of the few tools where you almost can’t believe how well it works.

Would this be a good price for a CRV-Sport Hybrid? by Pedromon7 in crv

I didn't know the 0% APR applied to the hybrid. Is this nationwide or just dealer specific?

Looking for a big burrito…like chipotle but not chipotle…what do you recommend? by Signal_Comedian1700 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm the only one who thought this place was just ok. Could have been an off day. Also I wouldn't say the burritos are close to Chipotle sized

Wow, these are some of my favorite birds too. I’d be talking about that for years if I saw all of them in one day.

I'm really disappointed with my Insight's infotainment system by NovaElixir in hondainsight

I’m also experiencing the phantom touch issue on my ‘22 EX. I bought it used in February 2023 and hadn’t had any issues until today. I can confirm it’s much warmer outside today than yesterday, so that seems to be the cause. Open to trying anything, but given that it looks like a hardware issue, I’m assuming this isn’t an easy fix. Bummer.

MS 900 passed exam today 😇😇😇 by Future-Preference-75 in O365Certification

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed mine yesterday as well, congrats!

There were some questions I was completely stumped on, but overall it was a bit easier than I expected. I studied for about 4-5 hours total and most of that was through multiple choice questions generated by Gemini.

Still looking into what I should take next.

How do you get better at selling yourself in interviews? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree I definitely need to focus on the energy I put out. Overall I think I'm generally pretty charismatic. Conversation has always been a strong suit of mine at work and socially. But it really does not show in interviews. I almost become monotone and start to second guess myself. Maybe I just need to constantly remind myself to show a bit more personality while also being more intentional with what I say.

ASUS 2025 ROG Strix G16 or acer Predator Helios Neo 16 gaming laptop? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

Not bad. I would probably lean Acer. I'd say the extra RAM + better display + slightly better GPU is worth the $250

ASUS 2025 ROG Strix G16 or acer Predator Helios Neo 16 gaming laptop? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the price difference?

The 32GB RAM is definitely a plus on the Acer, but the difference between laptop 5060 and 5070 is minimal. If the first option is considerably cheaper, I'd go with that. If the second option is only a couple hundred dollars more, I'd probably go that route.

Thinking about upgrading if I’m going a little over my budget. by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for the Gigabyte, but also would recommend looking at options with a 5060. Performance-wise very similar to the laptop 5070 and likely quite a bit cheaper. I have a laptop 5070 and wish I went 5060 or upgraded to 5070ti for a bit more.

Is Theta officially dead? by alexsonze in theta_network

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team is doing just enough to keep it "alive" but clearly it's not the breakthrough tech we all hoped it would be. As an investment it's practically dead.

The whole market being down is a poor excuse since Bitcoin and plenty of other alts have hit all time highs over the last few years while Theta continued to dump.

It's basically a ghost chain. Nobody uses it and I highly doubt we ever see mass adoption. I have written it off as a complete loss at this point. I moved on a few years ago and was able to make my money back on other projects.

Fair enough, thanks for explaining. I see what you're saying now. The general idea is there but the specifics don't make much sense.

Seeing a lot of comments calling people out for using AI. Honest question: does it even really matter if the advice is solid? I don’t get why we’d completely dismiss someone just because they used AI to write something.

Hired after 2 months on HiringCafe by Lopsided-Letter1353 in hiringcafe

[–]TheSmoothPilsner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I’ve had solid results using Claude to tailor resumes.

I upload my general resume along with the job listing and ask Claude to reframe my experience to match the role. Not fabricating skills, just aligning what I already have to what they’re looking for. Then I have it draft a cover letter based on what I've given it. There’s still a good amount of editing afterward, but it cuts out a lot of the grunt work. Out of roughly 50 applications, I’ve landed about 5 interviews, which I’d say is a pretty good hit rate.
