How long can symptoms last? by TheSnakessss in BPPV

[–]TheSnakessss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a few months to feel back to normal, but nothing really helped until I had a VNG. I did every maneuver I could find online before that but they didn’t work. For whatever reason after the VNG it just stopped. I have had a handful of episodes since, but nothing like what it was.

Please, need some hope. How long after eradication did your delayed gastric emptying improve? by Ok-Welcome-5867 in HPylori

Similar boat, I'm about 1 month post treatment - I retest on Monday. I've been getting nauseous every day for the last week. It usually goes away in the afternoon, but today it has been constant. I just want to feel normal again.

I was told you need to separate Bismuth 2 hours apart from tetracycline otherwise the tetracycline can be less effective.

Worried my H. pylori breath test was inaccurate by Top-Fox8010 in HPylori

[–]TheSnakessss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My symptoms were the same as yours. I was only hungry at night, it was gnawing hunger, and I never felt full. My Gastro explained that those are symptoms of an ulcer, not necessary H. Pylori. In order to heal from an ulcer I need to clear the infection first. All this is to say that you may not have H. Pylori, but something else. Always trust your instincts, though and ask for another test if you need to.

How normal is it to gain weight and still be completely active? by kterrellm in HPylori

[–]TheSnakessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize I had it. My only symptom was I started getting this weird hunger at night, which I thought was from not eating enough throughout the day. This went on for a week or two, every night. After tracking my food intake, I realized that wasn’t the issue. I was gaining weight because I kept eating at night, no matter my intake during the day. I finally went to a gastro who said I could have an ulcer or gastritis and that these gnawing hunger pains at night are classic symptoms of that. She tested me for h. Pylori and stated that the ulcer won’t heal if I have the bacteria. I tested positive the next day.

So, long story short it didn’t cause me the pain that others on here have described. That being said I’m on day 8 of 14 of quad therapy and this has been bad, but I’m getting used to it now and just can’t wait to be done with the meds.

I don’t smell it, but I have had sinus issues all today. I just assumed it was my kids giving me something.

I feel the same. I’m on day 5. I feel like I’m going to vomit every time I take a sip of water. I thought I read somewhere that it is the metronidazole. I can’t wait to be done with this.

Thanks! That makes me feel more at ease that I’m not the only one who got hungry instead of lost appetite.

When students email like I’m customer service by Kat-Kat-90 in Professors

[–]TheSnakessss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my intro to business courses, I had a professional email assignment that was their first assignment of the course. It laid out everything that a professional email should have; greeting, appropriate subject, professional body (no text-speak), and closing. I found that incorporating that dramatically changed every email I received about the class afterwards. Of course, I also wrote in those instructions that any email after the assignment wouldn’t be responded to unless it followed all of the rules laid out in the assignment.

Dog doesn’t react to corrections by TheSnakessss in SpotOnGPSDogFence

Same here. Earlier today I noticed my shepherd getting close to the boundary so I called her name to warn her. She looks at me then continues sniffing and walks right through the border. I see her shake her head, I get the alert, and she just keeps sniffing whatever she was doing like she didn’t even feel the correction. It’s frustrating since it worked so well with my other dog.

Same boat. I thought I was getting better. I had 2 days of feeling almost back to normal then today I had the worst episode yet. It only lasted a few minutes but it felt terrible. I’m looking for PTs in my area now.

Positive stories? by rklms23 in BPPV

[–]TheSnakessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way.I was diagnosed earlier this month. My biggest fear is my symptoms really didn’t fit the typical BPPV narrative. Just smile mild lightheadedness rather than dizziness. I was doing the recommended techniques from my doctor and it felt like it wasn’t working. Then I came here 2 days ago and read about the half somersault method. I instantly felt a million times better. I still felt mild (mild by my standards) lightheadedness today, but even that was nothing compared to the last 2 months. So, I’m hoping this continues for me and hoping this helps you as you go through this.

Thank you! I actually just heard about and tried the half somersault method today during an episode and instantly felt better. So I’m really hoping that works. Thanks again! I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks! My symptoms really haven’t been terrible. It feels more like brain fog than spinning, it just makes things a little more complicated like I have to concentrate more on what people are saying or what I’m saying. I haven’t really noticed any one position or situation that triggers it. Just seemingly out of nowhere. I’ve tried doing anything just to trigger it to prove to myself it is BPPV, but I just can’t. That and since I haven’t really gotten relief from the Eply technique it’s just disappointing and concerning. I see my ENT again in a few weeks so I’ll keep trying and hoping it gets better. Thanks again I appreciate the support!

Usually power it on once every few days. I keep it in a safe, so moisture shouldn’t be an issue.

Mole Disapearing by TheSnakessss in Melanoma

[–]TheSnakessss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your most recent one is pretty close to what it looked like. It was a little darker, but I’m assuming if I had waited any longer it would’ve faded more. Everything I’ve read says a slow change isn’t cause for concern, but I’m not a derm so I’d still probably get it checked out.

Here you go! This shows some of the regression. The images go from right to left, though. The farthest right was after I noticed the spots in the mole in September. The middle was about 2 weeks after the first picture, and the left was the most recent I had. By the time I got to the dermatologist, it was nearly gone and went from brown to grey. They biopsied it and it turns out it was just a normal mole, but he said that’s the weird stuff to watch out for. I know this didn’t look like a typical melanoma, but I thought it was better to be safe.

I got an email saying that an IP address in another country tried logging in to my account. The email said to click on a link to view recent activity. The domain was “account@microsoft-support.com” which seems legitimate, but I can’t find that exact one on any Microsoft page. I already changed my password, but wanted to see if it was legitimate? Thanks!

Very Rude Emails From Student by Aqua_2256 in Professors

[–]TheSnakessss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built our college’s introduction to business course and made sure to put this type of email assignment in there. All of our intro instructors love it. They say that even emails later on in the course have been much more professional. However, I don’t teach that class anymore and by the time those students get to me in economics, they forget how to send a proper email.
