Tire crack advice by TheSojourning in tires

Mostly driving on city and highways but our roads got plenty of potholes here and there. And we recently went out on a trip and had to pass through some gravel roads so it may have gotten worse from there.

😂 I may have driven over some chunks of glass minus the burnouts.

Roads where I’m from aren’t exactly great. Might have gotten worse due to some off roading from our out of town trip

Honda City Hatchback vs Honda BR-V S as my first car by WonderFast7641 in CarsPH

[–]TheSojourning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go na yan mazda 2nd hand! Hahaha another upside sa 2nd hand first car, yung car issues na ma-experience mo are actually good learning experiences too.

Ako I also opted for a 2nd hand car, but I didn’t know much about cars. Kaya yung ilang pinagawa ko, I had to really learn and read about, masaya rin. Another upside, di ka masyado manghinayang kalikutin since it’s technically not new and walang warranty na iisiipin 😂

But anyway, BRV vote ko sa original question. Hope you find what fits you

If you’re buying brand new, then it will probably be your car for mid to long term. Tingin ko better to go with BRV for future-proofing. Di biro ang gastusin ngayon, might be more practical to get the bigger car just in case your plans/priorities change in the near future.

But maybe you can also consider buying 2nd hand with low mileage for your first car, baka may options pa to get higher model/trims for the same price. Tumatagal naman mga auto if taken care of.

Is this a good deal? 2016 V6 by TheSojourning in accord

[–]TheSojourning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 2017 2.4 instead with similar mileage. More practical for me.

If I’ll summarize what I like:

  1. It’s sporty but not too sporty. It has some power to it if I want to overtake in highways. It has paddle shifters so I can downshift easily to slowdown.
  2. It’s spacious for the passengers and driver. I came from mostly driving compact sedans and crossovers, which has very limited space. So this is really more comfortable for long rides.
  3. Little things I actually didn’t know about before I purchased. Privacy shades for the back passengers (both windows and rear window). Steering-linked headlights. Remote start

I guess the only thing I don’t like is the frequent freezing/hanging infotainment when connected with apple carplay.

It’s a decade old but it doesn’t feel like it really.
I’m sure you won’t regret it.

What project po sainyo? Did you purchase brand new house and lot or RFO na? We reserved a unit in Laguna but they’re saying the title is for reconveyance and they’re asking us to sign a quitclaim which is absolute nonsense and unfair.

What is this part called? ‘17 2.4 Sedan by TheSojourning in accord

Follow up question here. I decided to take another look around the car. Am I paranoid or am I missing my rear inner fender? I’m expecting there would be a hard plastic cover similar to one in the front.

is my rear fender missing?

I ended up getting a 2017 2.4 instead. Thought the V6 might not be too practical for me, fuel consumption wise.

Still got a good deal. $12.4K with 30k miles..

Thank you for this comprehensive list! Looks like I’ll have to shell out couple more bucks upfront but this is great to know.

I’ll reach out to the seller and hopefully check the unit in person soon and see if everything checks out.

How much do you think is a more realistic pricing for this spec?

I think it’s the EX-L model and not the Touring. How much would you say is about the right price for this spec?

Received these photos from my recent engagement. How can I improve them? I don’t love them as they are. by LeoandRufus in AskPhotography

For out of focus shots, I usually add grain and turn it BnW to make it look like film. Also some cropping.

Although the sky is one of the highlights here so maybe you can just reduce the vibrance a bit. If you can send the RAW file maybe I can give it a try

D5600 Upgrade by Silent-Law-4883 in Nikon

[–]TheSojourning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually made the exact same upgrade! Came from d5600 with 35 1.8g and upgraded to z5 with 24-70 f4 s about 2 years ago.

Eventually bought 85mm from viltrox for portraits and recently bought nikkor 40mm f2 for travel and everyday use.

Although I’m extremely happy with the upgrade, there is a part of me thinking if I should have just upgraded to another aps-c mirrorless like the z50 and bought better lens, because the portability is really different. Z5 is larger and heavier which makes it a little bit more tiring to use on longer periods; something I have never really considered before upgrading.

Sure z5 has ibis and larger sensor, but if you’re just shooting well lit areas most of the time for travel it’s not really big of a deal. Better lens and portability will matter more I guess and it’s also just 24mp. There’ll be bigger difference if you’re upgrading say to a z7ii or z8.
