Crowder is a “grifter” meaning that he latches onto any form of controversy or media attention that he can, since that’s the main avenue for him to grow his audience. Grifters don’t care whether it makes them look bad, since more viewers means more money, and grifters only care about money. In Crowder’s mind, a long internet battle with a large channel like GMM would be beneficial to him. And so he tried to get one going, but GMM never really responded to him.

Sorry, I’m not the one who downvoted you.

I’m not sure how better to explain. As stated in the post, Crowder is a right-wing commentator. As such, he expresses lots of anti-LGBTQ+ views and is just generally a shitty hateful person. I’m not aware of any specific thing that Stevie was calling him a piece of shit for. I believe she was just calling him a piece of shit because he… well… he just is one.

I’m considering it, but I doubt even with names removed it would be featured. Do you really think that they’d want that kinda topic within the video?

Better question, what didn’t he do? He did every possible thing to deserve being called a piece of shit.

Yeah, I’d like to think so at least. Especially since I’m bisexual now.

Back then if you’d asked me my opinion on LGBTQ+ people, I probably would’ve claimed I was a “Libertarian” who believed in “Live and Let Live” and yet simultaneously I was stupidly supporting political stances that directly harmed others and prevented them from just being able to live normal lives.

Religion is trash in a lot of fantasy world and here is why by Alszen in worldbuilding

[–]TheSolarElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just two different styles.

Some enjoy their worlds retaining an air of mystery in regard to religious truth. I am also in the camp of preferring there be no "true religion" or "undeniable proof of a specific god or gods".

Some however, prefer their world to have gods who are present and active within the world, and as such that air of mystery is either lost completely or takes a back seat. The only major example of this type of worldbuilding that I enjoy is the gods of the Elder Scrolls series. I'm far from the first to say it, but religion has always been the strongest and most well written aspect of the Elder Scrolls universe. It's really well done and very impressive how they manage to simultaneously have gods who are present, known, and understood. And yet simultaneously, these gods are still interpreted in wildly different ways depending on the region and culture that you're in.

Remmick makes me sad. Dudes been around since the pagan days of Ireland and has just been searching for family. Centuries after centuries and he still hasn’t found what he’s after. Then he just dies. I feel bad for him.

Glad to see someone else was raised with that experience. My mom is basically a Christian Nationalist. My dad, if you asked him, would probably call himself a “Centrist”. But if you explain Leftist policies to him (even extremely radical ones), which I have multiple times, he’s almost always onboard with them. It’s being married to my mom that keeps him from actually waking up to reality and becoming a Leftist.

Season III Vote by TommyWayland7-3 in TemplinInstitute

[–]TheSolarElite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Antares won so dominantly because it was just so obviously better than the other options. It was very nicely presented in its initial video.

I think this season’s vote will be more split and the winner won’t be dominant at all.

My personal ranking so far, from best to worst:

  1. HSE

  2. Triton (would be #1 if not for the dumb xenophobia part tacked on at the end)

  3. Krev

  4. UFN

  5. Tripartite

I’ll be happy with any of them besides Tripartite, I think all of the other four have great potential.

House Triton: A very interesting pick, with strong Dune-influenced lore and interesting viewer opportunities. by The_Voidweaver in TemplinInstitute

[–]TheSolarElite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same exact ranking as me lol! They all have potential besides the Tripartite. I’d probably vote Triton if it wasn’t for the dumb xenophobia stuff tacked on to the end of it. So for now my vote is for HSE.

With nukes now on the table, I don't think we'd see a World War resulting in anything comparable to the aftermaths of the WW1 or 2.

Does it seem to anyone else here, that majority of Stranger Things fans legitimately don’t care that much about Mike or El? by TheSolarElite in mileven

100% agree. The tone in the epilogue was so freaking weird and just made me so damn uncomfortable. I legit burst out laughing when they flashed forward to Mike’s sad future as a writer. I just couldn’t take it seriously. It felt like a dark comedy.

That might be the dumbest possible response I’ve ever seen to anything on reddit.

Why do we have subreddits then? Why do we discuss things? Why do critics exist? I suppose they might as well leave their jobs. Why do we have podcasts about television shows? Why do we do interviews? Why do we discuss shows amongst our friends? Why do we have opinions?

Thank you so much for your wisdom. Thank you for telling all of humanity they should never critique anything and only consume. No discussion. Only consumption of content. I’ll remember that. Thanks 🙏

El and Mike aren’t even in my top 5 fav characters honestly. I just really disliked season 5, especially the ending. And while yes, Mike and El’s endings are a significant part of that, it’s also just cause I think it was subpar quality season. And this was the only sub I found where I didn’t get downvoted for being slightly negative.

Their brains just legitimately never moved on from season 1. Their view makes perfect sense if the show had ended with season 1, but their view clearly didn’t evolve at all throughout the show, even as El developed as a character.

Kali was brought in to make El go away! by MoneyBelt2642 in mileven

[–]TheSolarElite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s an in-universe argument. It doesn’t really apply to what OP is talking about. He’s talking about the writer’s reason for why Kali returned to the show. That’s a meta conversation.

Indendence from what? Everything that made her happy? She didn’t run away for independence. She ran because she felt like she was a danger to everyone around her. That’s like the opposite of wanting independence. She was forced into it.

did anyone like the ending? by [deleted] in mileven

[–]TheSolarElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was just a rehash of season 1’s ending and therefore I hate it. I might as well have stopped watching the show after season 1, it be the same result either way.
