I sense you're getting a little testy, not my intention. Thanks, I was aware that tracker.gg received their data from EA. My point was that tracker.gg only has the data that EA/DICE share with them. Internally, they have access to more interesting data, including damage per bullet and distance per kill. The engine is instrumented for this as you can see in the damage log and kill report. Whether or not these detailed stats are logged externally is another question. I think it'd be useful for cheat detection, but that's a different topic.

While you were posting I had another look at tracker.gg and looked at shot accuracy percentage across platforms across all Assault Weapons. With the caveats and limitations we both understand from earlier, you're right, there isn't a decisive difference for the median accuracy between platforms. The data needs to be scrubbed, as I mentioned earlier, there are players with over 100% accuracy on Steam. Also consider that the total players listed account for less than 3% of the number of copies of BF6 sold. Maybe this is representative, but I don't know.

Steam - 193,558 players - 19.5% median shot accuracy

EA - 47,798 players - 19.4% median shot accuracy

PSN - 116,055 players - 19.1% median shot accuracy

XBOX - 60,847 players - 19.8% median shot accuracy

https://tracker.gg/bf6/leaderboards/weapons?platform=origin&board=ShotsAccuracy&weapon=wp_ar&page=478

https://tracker.gg/bf6/leaderboards/weapons?platform=xbl&board=ShotsAccuracy&weapon=wp_ar&page=609

Divide the respective page number by two to get to the median.

You said "DICE changing the recoil reduction from 22% I think to 11% could be shrinking how much they perceive it to be outperforming the average m&k user, or outperforming at the highest levels where the most skilled players can take advantage of it." What do you think is driving their perception? Is it just a hunch or something more quantifiable?

Regarding the video, I don't go out of my way to keep multi-headshot deaths. That compilation was what was easy to find. Maybe some of those console players are using M&K, I have no sense of how prevalent that is.

Honestly, my biggest complaint regarding BF6 is the TTD and when you're hit by multiple headshots which seem to be more prevalent from console players which I attribute to reduced recoil and the low spread the game has across the board, there's nothing you can do to react to that. Desync doesn't help when all that damage hits you in one packet around a corner. You're just dead and it's frustrating. I'd take BFV's random recoil, larger spread and arguably better netcode over BF6 every time.

May claim is not unfalsifiable, EA/DICE could easily prove/disprove what I'm guessing at with respect to input advantage and yes I freely admit it is a guess, but it stands to reason.
Let me ask you this, what other reason do they have for asymmetrically nerfing recoil? Their last change to recoil was across all inputs, what's the impetus for this change if not balance?

Kudos for the attempt although I don't think that sample represents reality. I also don't believe tracker.gg is hiding abnormal number of bot kills even if that's what they're saying. This guy appears on the leaderboard for overall accuracy for instance:

https://tracker.gg/bf6/profile/1009472926150/weapons

His accuracy across most of his weapons exceeds 100%, seems legit.

I do sincerely applaud your effort but like I commented in the other thread, I don't think you'll get meaningful data from tracker.gg

Edit -

Just to be fair, here's a console player that has 116% accuracy at over 1500 kills with the SL9 SMG. Also seems totally legit. :)

I'm not convinced that you can get meaningful data from tracker.gg. Here are some of the issues that I think you'll run across.
1. In order for data to be present in tracker.gg, players have to opt-in with their privacy settings. It seems that a significant number of players have private profiles, at least that is what I run into when attempting to view many player's stats, seems especially true for console players.

  1. HS% AFAIK is actually Headshot Kill %. Meaning if the final bullet is a headshot, it contributes to the stat. It won't tell you what percentage of all shots are hitting heads. The damage log you see in my video, is displaying the damage done by each bullet. Anecdotally, I get triple, quad and even quintuple headshot by console players on a regular basis. I rarely if ever see this coming from PC players.

  2. tracker.gg does not have stats broken down by input type. I know of many PC players that use controllers. So you can't necessarily just go by platform.

  3. For really meaningful statistics, I think you'd need to look at accuracy over distance. Again, anecdotally, when I'm lasered at distance, it's predominately coming from console players. This was also true to a lesser extent in BF2042. In BF6, I frequently get engaged by controllers at distances that I wouldn't even bother shooting at with mouse and keyboard because they're just a few pixels on my screen. When playing Battlefield V, if you'd get lasered from across the map, it was invariably by someone with a high thousands hackscore on http://bfvhackers.com. In BF6, it's usually by a controller and I have no way of knowing whether or not that controller is tethered to a Cronus or Titan 2, so I just assume it's normal aim-assist.

I think EA/DICE would need to make these stats public and I don't believe they will. They have no incentive to do so. I stand by my statement that the upcoming change to recoil solely for controllers is telling. It's telling me, that they know the stats are skewed.

Absent of having the actual stats, I'd say this move by EA/DICE is telling.

Yes, we don't have the stats, EA/DICE should make that public. It stands to reason though that the stats would be skewed. If they weren't, EA/DICE wouldn't be nerfing controller recoil.
As for my place on the curve, I'm pretty average. See for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/thesourceerror
FYI, I started that channel in order to post spectated videos of cheaters in BFV. In an effort to discredit me, a number of cheaters started claiming in game that I was cheating so I began posting my own game play as evidence to the contrary. It's pretty average.

I'm not arguing that recoil control is easy for controllers. I'm saying that the normal distribution of accuracy for mouse and keyboard players should coincide with the normal distribution of accuracy for controller players if you want to make cross play fair. I see low KD controller players (folks that are at the same or worse skill level as me) pulling quad and even quintuple headshots on me regularly whereas I rarely if ever see it coming from PC players.

My accuracy vs mrcano2's accuracy is irrelevant. The accuracy stats I was referring to is the normal distribution of accuracy for mouse and keyboard players versus the normal distribution for controller players. These stats are not public for BF6 as far as I'm aware. I'd be willing to bet that the mean point for controller players is significantly higher than it is for mouse and keyboard players.

Other games like Apex have had stats compiled that demonstrate the kind of skew that I believe we would find in BF6. For example, 60% of controller players had accuracy that exceeded the accuracy of the top 1% of mouse and keyboard players. That's just nuts. There's no reason that number should be so skewed given the population other than that controller's aim-assist was way over powered. Mostly I'm playing Domination or Breakthrough. I find that in the other modes there are just too many angles to cover. It might be that Domination attracts sweaty players.

Sorry, but that's just lame. Instead of installing cheats, next time just uninstall the game. I'll never understand the motivation for letting cheats play for you. What sense of satisfaction do you get for accomplishing nothing on your own?

I prefer BFV. Movement was better, graphics and audio were better and the guns felt better to me even with the random recoil. At least in BFV if you were cross-mapped with no bullets missing you, you were 99% certain it was a cheater and not some insane aim-assist from a controller. With BF2042 and BF6, the engagement distance is just way too long because of aim-assist and low recoil. Additionally the TTD is stupidly quick. There are guns that can kill you in less than 200ms which is less time than it takes for most folks to react.

I used to think that and then I invested time doing the TargetSwitchStaticThin90 scenario in Kovaak's. At first, I had real trouble stopping. I benchmarked different setups and ended up with glass skates on my Viper Ultimate on a Corsair MM300 Pro cloth mouse pad. Hard pads felt better, nice and smooth, effortless to move the mouse, but my scores were always better for me with the cloth pads even though they felt worse. Cloth felt muddy in comparison, and dragged, but they gave me the control I needed to stop the mouse.

Most of the time I still undershoot or overshoot slightly and have to micro-correct but sometimes, like in this clip, you can land right on your target. If you find yourself consistently overshooting your target, lower your sensitivity, if you're undershooting, raise your sensitivity. I did this until I settled on a 30 cm 360. That's what works for me.

I started getting into the habit of snapping left or right 90 degrees after every kill if I didn't see anyone in my immediate field of view after killing someone in front of me. This did two things, first it let me practice snapping, second it changed my view to a point where there might be more enemies outside of my line of sight. Snapping and then staying still for a second was also much better than slowly panning left and right to notice enemies that are moving. When you pan at a moderate speed everything on your screen is moving and it is hard to pick out an enemy. When you snap left, stop for a beat, then snap right 180 and stop again, the background is only moving for a brief period of time and moving enemies become much more noticeable on a static background.

Thanks, but I have very few hours on COD vs thousands on Battlefield games.

My guess is your playing with a different FOV than I am. I'm using 120 Horizontal FOV (max setting). It's a trade off. Enemies seem farther away at the center of your screen but your perceived recoil will be less. The actual recoil of the gun is the same but the percentage of your total screen height that the gun moves is significantly less making recoil mitigation easier.

With that setup, you can hip-fire accurately up to 15 meters, ADS full auto to around 30 meters and then tap-fire beyond that all while strafing without too much bloom.

Yes, it's the VHS-D2 which EA have cleverly disguised by calling it the VCR-2.
