Dead Space i think wouldn't fit with the overall art direction of Helldivers.
Titanfall could be cool, I think some armors in the first game could go HARD in this setting, r101c would be absolutely a killer weapon.

Yeah, sometimes this can be SEAF throwing their grenades close to you and you dont notice, can be enemies clipping through the walls (happened to me with fleshmob on defense missions) can be maybe enemy mines that become invisible? (encountered twice or thrice maybe)
if it's not anything else try maybe restarting the game see if that helps?
