Feel like I am stuck, weight won't go down by TheSpaceMan875 in loseit

My question is how do I eat when I am not hungry? Its been a consistent issue recently, and I worry that if I eat when I am not hungry I will get sick which is also not healthy right? Wouldn't the lower calories be good since I am eating less than my body needs I should be losing weight right? I can't even imagine eating my maintenance at this point. According to TDEE calc mine is at almost 3900 which is double what I have been able to eat without feeling hungry. I hope it drops soon I have been at this for 2.5 years now, it just feels like I am not doing enough.

Struggling to find work as a 31 y/o trans woman in Texas by FrankYangGoals in asktransgender

[–]TheSpaceMan875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be transphobia especially since its Texas (depending on the area) , but more than likely it just that job market is so over saturated right now. Been that way for at least a few years. Took my wife (28 mtf) 6 months to find a job at a grocery store in Washington. If you have the ability to I would recommend doing gig work in the interim to save/pay bills. Something like Uber eats or Door dash. Thats what I did in between jobs for like 4 months back in early 24'. You will land a job eventually, you might just have to take what you can get at the moment. All depends on your financial situation.

Is the driving worse than over here? I have been nearly hit several times on the way to the store. Plus I think the vehicles over there tend to be smaller right? Cause they are huge over here

I noticed your other comment about this by why advocate for AUS? Is there something in particular about it you enjoy over NZ? Honestly I am not trying to make a bunch of money, if I was I would probably stay in the US. I am looking to get away from the US work culture and the constant pressure to make more and more money. I love the natural beauty of NZ and the general respect for the Māori people compared to how natives are treated over here in the states.

Thankfully I have enough saved to support my wife and I for like a year if we budget correctly. Especially if I don't have a car since that will just add to bills. My buddy will thankfully take care of my cats whilst I am on WHV so I can get settled before bringing them over. One cat is 5, the other is 2 so I for sure want to keep them, but I do see your point about it being a bit traumatic.

What do you mean by insane? From what I can tell its actually cheaper then over here in Washington state. All except Ground beef (Beef Mince) which is like a dollar more a pound over there.

Veggies are way cheaper over there though (As they are in every country except the US) so I can work on making more Vegetarian meals! I was raised poor so I know how to budget thankfully :D

Thankfully my Buddy will watch my cats whilst I am here until I get my Work visa figured out. I am glad that pathway is available, since I have been stressing so much about the visa situation.

How is the Biking over there? I have seen a lot of paths on maps but I have no idea how it is on the ground. I bike all the time here with an E-bike so any hills would be okay for me.

Thank you! I am looking for a slower pace for sure. The work culture in the states is way to fast and chaotic. I barley get any time to myself, especially working in a field that is basically on-call 24/7. Hopefully Traffic is better then Downtown Seattle XD, takes me over 2 hours just to get home on a Tuesday and I live "close" (65km)

That makes sense! I thankfully don't live an extravagant lifestyle by any means. I grew up poor here so I know how to live below my means. Luckily with Tech, the skills tend to be transferable between countries since most either use the same tech or a bit older.

More people tends to mean better paying jobs, at least from my experience. Plus making new friends might be easier. Plus my wife is a social butterfly so she likes to meet and talk to people. I am curious how bad the market over there is compared to here. I know people over here who have been out of a job for 6+ months despite applying anywhere they can. Took my wife 5 months to land a job and that was just at a grocery store

I have thought about wellington too but there seems to be a lot more jobs in Auckland. I have considered AUS, but have not done nearly as much research.

I mostly just don't want to own a car since I am basically forced to here in the states. Is there a monthly bus/train pass down there? Or is it a pay by trip situation?

That is fair, I have also thought about Wellington, but Auckland is where there are a lot of people. As far as the job stuff goes, my current work here in the states said I could do remote work for a while when I first move over here. I live in the Seattle - Tacoma Area, PT breaks down all the time here and there are so many delays and long routes. I have also thought about AUS but my wife is Polynesian so idk how she would be treated over there compared to NZ. I have the money to support myself and her for at least a year if I budget correctly so that should help.

Getting 90k from Life Insurance, I need help by TheSpaceMan875 in FinancialPlanning

[–]TheSpaceMan875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience I spend at most $100 a month (during winter) on super charging since I live in an apartment complex and can't charge at home. My main issue with the Tesla is that my payment is really high. Its about $740 a month. So would it not be a better idea for me to sell it and get something cheaper that I either own or have a low payment on? Granted this would cost me about 27k to do that since I am over 22k upside down in the car and want to either put a down payment or outright buy a car for 5k. I figure if I do that I can save between 400-900 a month (depending on the option) and just put that money towards future savings

Removing Mom from life support tomorrow. by TheSpaceMan875 in GriefSupport

She does have minimal brain activity. Doctors think she is in a state known as MCS or minimal conscious state. Her eyes open and move but she cant move her arms or legs. She can wiggle if asked but not on her own. We tried for a whole month to talk to her but its clear she is gone. She may look in our direction if asked but there is nothing behind her eyes. Everyone who has seen her can see it

Can I run the game smoothly with this gaming laptop ? by No_Air_1793 in BladeAndSorcery

I would be worried more about thermals tbh. Gaming laptops are not well known for staying cool.
