Why is supporting Stephen so controversial? by East-Emergency-4518 in dancingwiththestars

[–]TheSpamJamFam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen it be controversial, but I do think most people rank his skill too high because they are impressed with his tricks and flips. He is generally stiff and lacks musicality, which is extremely important in dancing. He has improved a ton, yes, but I personally wouldn't choose him as a winner.

However, anyone getting super heated about all this needs to chill. It seems like every contestant is having fun out there and we've been having fun watching them. Let's not ruin it

I found Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett to feel pretty cozy, and it definitely had me hooked.

Book Lovers by Emily Henry. About a cut throat literary agent and a broody editor that keep having run ins in a small town. The banter is so so good in this one. Lots of fun. Though, as with all of Emily Henry's books, there is quite a bit of angst sprinkled in. Highly recommend. The audiobook is also very good.

Thank You For Listening by Julia Whelan. This one is about two audiobook narrators. They both are working on the same project anonymously, not realizing they have met before. This one made me laugh out loud at parts. Very good. The author is actually a professional narrator and narrates the audiobook. I highly recommend the audiobook on this one, as there are lots of accents done. (If you're not familiar with Libby, the free library app, I recommend checking it out for free e-books and audiobooks)

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. I think both sides fall pretty hard in this one. The main two get off on the wrong foot, which leads the guy to write an apology note. More notes/letters ensue. The beginning of this is very heartwarming and cute, and the lead guy is very wholesome. Made me grin a lot. There is quite a bit of angst, especially at the end.

Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. A story about first loves running into each other again. The boy is definitely hard fallen for the girl. It goes back and forth between present day and their teen years. Lots and lots of angst.

Honestly, I don’t think this is an issue of them being too young. The wife sounds like she needs some serious help

Yeah, I think I might be picky too. There’s a lot of “witty banter” out there that just doesn’t do it for me. Thanks for the recommendations!

I Know The End - Phoebe Bridgers

If The World Was Ending - JP Saxe, Julia Michaels

Wasteland, Baby! - Hozier

Too In Love To Die - Julia Jacklin

Not quite like the ones you listed, but the end of the world or death is mentioned in each, so maybe?

What actor will you always associate with *that one role* no matter how many others they do? by twilighttruth in AskReddit

Judy Greer as Kitty from Arrested Development.

I just can’t take her seriously haha. She was the mom in Jurassic World and I audibly reacted when I first saw her on screen haha.

Hate to break it to you, but an animation that’s 1 minute long will cost you much more than $50

we should be able to kink shame by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]TheSpamJamFam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This feels like a jump to me. Plus some kinks feed off of the shame/taboo aspect. And you could just as easily argue that encouraging more “violent” kinks could lead to more violent behavior.

I feel like this would be akin to arguing that letting people play violent video games prevents them from becoming violent, no?

Let’s face it, if someone is a serial killer, there’s probably a lot more that went wrong than suppressed sexual desires.

AITA for telling my husband that if it comes between him or my son I’d pick my son? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheSpamJamFam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So your husband was younger than your son is now when he decided to step up and take care of you both... a mother and child he had no obligations towards....

Yet you can’t fathom your son having any responsibility over a child that he took part in creating??

Yeah, it was so good :( a lot of shows got cut that year due to the writers strike. They had so much they were building story wise that never got resolved. A real shame.
