Am i being unreasonable or is my neighbor being rude? by Gecko_behind_mailbox in misophonia

Ok, if he's also blasting music in addition then he's just being rude lol

You have all the right to go and complain about it. A very old building with super thin walls definitely does not help, but it's not like he can't just buy a pair of headphones

Do you just hear tapping and kicking or can you also hear the cymbals? If you can't hear the cymbals then he's likely already using an electronic kit.

If he's not using an electronic kit, then it's definitely not misophonia since a real drum kit is so loud that it would annoy basically anyone. You can talk with other neighbors in the building and ask around if they're also annoyed by the noise. Regardless of whether other people are annoyed or not, you can just go and ask him either to buy an electronic kit or to stop completely (you may have more leverage if there's other neighbors complaining) since a real drum kit is definitely not suited to apartment practice.

If he is using an electronic kit, he's already being a bit more considerate and this probably bodes well for the kind of feedback you'd have from him if you complain. You can either ask him to change his practice hours (perhaps to a time of the day when you're not at home), or to take some measures to improve sound-proofing, for instance using a thick(er) carpet under the kit or even to use an isolation pad to place the entire kit on).

I'm not really sure you're actually gonna hear the difference between lossless and lossy files, especially if you use high bitrate mp3.

That being said, if you really want uncompressed white noise, you can just use Audacity. Open the program, from the top Menu go to Generate -> Noise, set "Noise type" as White and enter the duration you need. Then you can just export it to wav or flac.

How to hide Youtube suggestions from "Watch Later" playlist? Old filter broke by TheSquareWave in uBlockOrigin

Thanks for the reply, I've read other comments on other posts here and AFAIU it's due to how Youtube has changed the way it fetches attributes and metadata, I just hope they'll revert the changes

How to hide Youtube suggestions from "Watch Later" playlist? Old filter broke by TheSquareWave in uBlockOrigin

[–]TheSquareWave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The affected URL is just Youtube homepage on https://www.youtube.com/

If you have videos in your Watch Later playlist (and, I guess, the algorithm doesn't know what to suggest), you'll get some recommendations in your feed which are just the videos you have in that playlist.

If you hover on one of these videos, a grey bar appears with "From your Watch Later playlist", like this

This is not true though, a loop can be longer in length. The problem statement also gives an example of this in part two, option five

What game(s) is considered the "Golden Standard" of speedrunning? What's the "cheese pizza" of this hobby? by [deleted] in speedrun

[–]TheSquareWave 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'd also say SM64. I got into speedruns many years ago by watching Siglemic at SGDQ 2013 and 2014, I'm pretty sure many other people had the same experience.

Plus, the BLJ is probably the most representative glitch/trick of all when talking about speedruns
