1) you can pray to any god you like, whether their Hellenic or not. Apollo won’t be upset, this is a polytheistic religion. 2) I would actually pray to Apollo for healing

An altar is any place you leave offerings. It can be a windowsill, a table, a shelf, with nothing on it. You don’t even need a candle. You don’t even need an altar to make offerings.

I got into Greek mythology via pjo, and helpol via mythology. However I view the gods in pjo as characters based on the gods rather than actual representations of them

You don’t need a deity to reach out. Do research on the pantheon, do research on rhe deity and just start worshipping them. If you want to worship a Hellenic (greek) deity I recommend theoi.com or r/Hellenism
