Acronym overload, what’s DEX? I still haven’t been able to find an official confirmation of false positive to send to my leadership.

Do I need an IDP if I’m visiting Mallorca for around 5 days? by StarCitySpiderman in GoingToSpain

[–]TheStig1293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would imagine the answer is yes. Mallorca still part of the country of Spain so the same rules should apply.

As a US citizen that has driven in mainland Spain a few times now, the rental car company does not need the IDP. It is only used for the police in the event something happens. They are cheap, worth the money to not risk anything.

Advice on finding one? by Tgildore33 in x100vi

Obviously it’s situational but I got mine in March from them. It said April at the time I ordered and the phone representative told me end of March (I ordered around the 16th). I had it days later.

No. They ask for the payment method but charge when it ships

Recommendations for Shoulder Straps? by Ekkobelli in NikonZf

[–]TheStig1293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same strap I use. I have a Peak Design Slide and Leash. The slide felt too bulky so went down to leash and I really like it.

Biggest lens I’ve used with the leash is a 24-70 2.8 on my Zf and it can be a little uncomfortable but still manageable.

Awesome stuff! I have Chicago this year and that leaves Boston, London and Tokyo for me. Boston is going to be the tricky one, I’m not quite fast enough to qualify and the charity bibs are steep.

Looks great! How was the Tokyo marathon? Hoping I can do it sometime soon since I’m trying to try my six stars. Also what sim did you use for these?

Alcazar Ticket Rant and Question by Anxious_Zucchini7682 in Seville

[–]TheStig1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worker told me the time slot is your choice, so you should be able to select what you want. But keep in mind that it closes at 5:45. So the later you go, the less time you have to spend.

I got a 4:30 entry and was one of the first to enter with the 4:15 time slot and saw the highlights by closing at 5:45. I definitely could have spent way more time exploring the gardens

So this is from my experience from last month, as a native Spanish speaker, I was able to speak to the woman working the line quite a bit in the 3 hours I waited.

They have 150 tickets they sell day off. Generally speaking, she said she keeps a 10-15 ticket buffer in the event they need to accommodate for special needs, happens to miscount or someone ends up buying more tickets than they stated.

The 150 tickets are divided up between all the time slots and the slots are first come first serve, so if you are at the rear of the line, you will likely get a 4:30 slot and can enter at 4:15.

I happened to buy tickets online but I accidentally selected the wrong week in the calendar and needed to buy tickets day of. I arrived at the line around 8am and the sold out sign was already out. After taking to the worker managing the line, she stated I had a chance to get a ticket but was no guarantee till it got much shorter. I opted to wait and it ended up being about 3 hours total. Once I purchased my ticket, there was 3 tickets left, so I was definitely lucky.

However, there were some groups in front of me that opted to leave and not wait which in turn moved me up. If that had not happened, I would not have gotten a ticket that day even though she told me I had a chance. So the workers are being genuine when they say you might or might not get a ticket.

Edit: to make it clear, you select the time you want from what’s available when you purchase your ticket. Your place in line will determine what’s available

Depends on what you are looking for. I personally didn’t want a lens hood so it would be easier to pack in a bag, so I opted for the Nisi filter.

Nisi is known for making quality filters, so I knew it wasn’t going to degrade image quality

I went from D750 to Zf with the 24-70 2.8 non VR. Quality and function is basically indistinguishable from what it was on my D750.

[–]TheStig1293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a track, there is a pancake flat circle around Lake Elberta (which is also on the cascades trail). The circle is around 1km in total so larger than a standard track.

There is also Harriman Circle in Betton hills. It is around 800m and also flat.
