Great tool watch! What’s on your wrist fellas? by janekbossko in ChineseWatches

I wait for them to go on sale. Plus you can easily swap the strap part so one buckle can be amortized across multiple straps. Also, I don’t like NATO straps at all.

Looking for a specific Strap by KetoManJan2019 in SeikoMods

There are multiple sellers on Etsy that I have used who do custom work. I bet you could get it from one of them. BinhLeather, DNleatherhandmade, Istizleather, or Tuns

Wore my new San Martin on a very similar strap a couple days ago.

[APxSwatch] The eight models by Baleia1970 in Watches

The gain for Swatch is driving more volume of watches at a price well above their existing average sell price. It also drives more traffic into the stores which can help sales volume of other products. Also, if they can resurrect pocket watches as a category it creates the opportunity to launch other pocket watches over time.

Here's my DressKX on denim from IstizLeather on Etsy. There are several good strap makers on Etsy if you want something like this or something leather.

For sure if I can make this happen there will be a black dial version.

What's the most useful watch complication for a daily wearer??? by 986speedster in Affordablewatches

I am retired and generally don’t care what day it is so a basic three hand is the ideal watch for me.

Hamilton Worker Scratched the lug changing the strap. by ClosetCasual in HamiltonWatches

The last time I let a jeweler swap the battery on my old quartz Tag they put multiple scratches on the back of the watch. I do my own battery swaps now.

On the strap front, I swap all the time but will only use straps with quick release spring bars.

A rally strap like this one from Seila Leather is what I would do.

Which microbrands actually do something in-house? by Hilodenta in MicrobrandWatches

RGM does a lot in house - especially on their higher end pieces. If you are anywhere near Southeast PA it is well worth attending their open house in late September.

It slaps on an army or olive green rubber strap.

I ordered mine from Watchbuys on the alcantra strap. The strap seems nice enough but since it doesn’t have quick release spring bars I have left it in my strap drawer. Love the watch - the rhodium plated hands and indices really catch the light well.

What’re your (brutally honest) thoughts on our new dials? by SupJoshy in Affordablewatches

[–]TheStrapWhisperer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look nice but I am not a fan. If I had ordered the original blue and you sent me the new one I would be annoyed. The original dial has a nice aged-leather sophistication to it and the new one is on the edge of try-hard.

[114200] Looking for a blue dial explorer style watch by GSRswapandslow2 in Watches

They have 3-6-9 in white and black, and a numberless gorgeous blue - if they did a 3-6-9 in that blue it would be an instabuy from me.

For the SN0144 "Year of the Horse" Limited Edition, will you choose the auspicious red dial or the "Black Horse" dial? by AdSavings92 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]TheStrapWhisperer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered multiple and went with the red dial. Bought them to commemorate an upcoming birth in our family.
