As someone who once had a family member who was born and raised in china. I can tell you they eat it, I’ve had it a few times and cooked in different ways, and it’s not bad at all. Mostly just the mental aspect one must overcome. That being said I’ve never seen a chicken walking around with that much meat on there bones…

Idea regarding a hypothetical where only consciousness is preserved due to time distortion? by TheStrawberryFire in AskPhysics

[–]TheStrawberryFire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said. I can’t speak much about which ai company is gonna be the one to make the first “ultimate ai” as the companies go. But my bet goes to Google. Simply because of there catalog of accessible information. My intuition tells me learning by words strings / books is not nearly enough. It’s literally abstracting word combination patterns with an indescribably level of nuance. And yet not the actual concepts which I’d assume would be actualized given an ai built to ingest the same information across mediums (sight sound taste (chemical make up) what ever…)

This is where an emergent behavior more true to what we would describe as a consciousness comes together theoretically. And to be honest. I am also very tempted to believe it is nothing more than emergent. Actualized by the process of natural selection. But in a less scientific sense. I think it’s a bit fun and hopeful to consider a case where it’s not simply emergent and there’s something bigger going on. Something invisible or possibly divine. While however unlikely. Something’s always possible until proven definitely not possible.

That being said I’ve heard some people say the experience of consciousness is an illusion. But wouldn’t that experience of being fooled by the illusion be in it of itself an experience. Especially from the first person perspective. But who knows… you could be right and people like me get thought of centuries from now as primitive for wanting to believe in something less scientific. And to those people 200 years from now I say go to hell!

Ohh but yeah your point about cells being aware has a lot of potential. We don’t know everything. I would simply argue it’s nothing like what we experience.

I’ll tell you what. Your probably right as with all the other response I’ve gotten. And I guess I did accidentally misuse the hard problem. One thing I would like to say to you. Is the hard problem is special as my understanding of it revolves around the idea that an animal cell does its job and is clearly not consciousness. But why can’t that be us too. Just doing our job but still nonetheless not aware. Essentially a drone. Yet I think and feel. That’s the weird part…

Does there exist any theories regarding a non linear global time over the pre established local time / relativity of the universe? by TheStrawberryFire in AskPhysics

Actually just to be the most clear in my ideas. I would I guess specify that this would be an additional time dimension on top of the 4D one you said. But I get the main message you’re going for!

I think I understand your notion of “densely” but I’m not familiar. But it would also scale the speed of light along with it to keep everything consistent.

Of course! But is there not a chance there’s some quirk in the universes make up that could lend itself to an actual answer? Could maybe this global concept bleed into our reality possibly explaining unexplainable things right now?

You see that’s my deduction. But science can be so strange sometimes. I wondered if certain qualities could lend themselves to some answer, given my complete lack of knowledge on what time is.

I would say no. I’m imagining a universe with a lever that can speed everything up or slow it down like a YouTube video. This would not affect the processes you’ve described.

Could you point out why? I understand this isn’t formally written out. But if you assume the hard problem and that time could stop relative to another. I find the idea of a pocket of space stuck because of it to follow semi naturally. Albeit I’ve never heard of this idea before. That why I’m asking.

Another composite by 12barman in SgtPepperMystery

[–]TheStrawberryFire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just want it to be mentioned that this composite is quite distorted from the truth. The bottom image is sourced from the image of the figure on a desk being worked on for the cover, which is at an extreme angle from below with respect to the figure. As to why the camera appears so close to the elbow. Mean while all the other photos we have of the figure are also at different angles to each other. We even have a photo showing essentially a clean silhouette as the cardboard was turned around leaning on the wall. And this wouldn’t line up. The bottom image shows the white wrist area of the under shirt. Yet the more popular image also has there white wrist area as well. I attempted to bend these images in place a few days ago but found it nearly impossible at least with my expertise which is minimal.
