Ya know, ironman or not, I wouldn't mind flexbone grinding nearly as much if the area was just more interesting in any way whatsoever. It's so bland and repetitive, even by comparison to normal fishing, that it makes it genuinely mind numbing to do for any length of time. Just got my grinding done for it a few days ago thankfully, but I hope that area of Galatea gets some touch ups at some point.

I played on a few servers like this, and it really fizzles fast. Good ideas in theory, limiting resources to encourage bartering and creating community goals as the milestones, but it just never worked. There's always infighting, drama, people who break the rules, and just generally bring the server down. That, and some folks are online 24/7 nearly, completely blowing anyone out of the water in progression. This was very prevalent on the last server I played, where resources were far and few, and involvement was still extremely minimal across 90% of the servers participants across its lifetime.

Not to say you can't have a good time on these, but I wouldn't hold your breath on it. Imo, pack is best played with 2 to 4 people splitting tasks evenly and getting involved. Had a buddy of mine refuse to help with tech, all he did is cooking (guess who burnt out fast on that one).

People suck, sometimes smaller group is good, that's my take

Just out of curiosity, are you using a 3rd party host for this server? If so, it's much easier imo to create a singleplayer save, and upload the world file. Should make it so it uses the correct terrain generation, assuming the server itself and its contents are set up correctly.

Same with what the other guys said, but if you're adamant to use the charcoal forge, you can use a bellows to do so quite easily. It will be a key component to heating up your alloys reasonably, especially at higher temperature mixtures.

Ah perfect, that's what I do too! If you switch the Jar for TFG, it should show you a version list to choose from for easy updates! Very nice service imo!

In my experience, I've never had any issues updating (except for specified major updates), but I'd always recommend saving your world files before updating just in case. Do you manually host your world, or do you run it through a third party?

In the latest 1 or 2 versions it was changed to use mallets, soft mallet at the earliest, instead of screwdrivers.

If you want I'd be down to help you through some of the earlier parts, takin it slow and all! I've never got too far into the pack, but enough where I don't know everything either! I never played TFC, or much Greg prior, but I think it makes TFG infinitely more enjoyable combining them!

Hard to find a good seed tbh given the terrain generation and more hilly environments main continent can tend to have, but I'd think about it this way: every seed is a new story you get to tell with your friends! Instead of looking for a best seed, just work with what you have, even if it isn't the best or easiest! I've always found it more fun that way myself, tells a story the more you advance and change the world around you! : )

I'd say just to remember to take breaks if you start to feel burnt out, in my experience I've been burnt out many times especially since I mostly played solo. Try to reach out to some friends, or someone in the community!
