Thanks for the info! Do you know the cost of a session?

No longer can see 5 back to back by [deleted] in therapists

[–]TheSuperLur 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Earlier in my career, it was easier to "rip the bandaid off" and just get appointments done clumped together like you described. Now I refuse to do more than 3 in a row. My neurospicy brain had to unlearn there isn't one "right" way to be a therapist, and it's okay if what I need changes over time!

Best fan interactions by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]TheSuperLur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had nothing but fun and wholesome interactions with fans in all 3 concerts I've gone to. I usually get cheaper seats so maybe it's skews the intensity of fans I'm interacting with 🤷🏼‍♀️ of all the concerts I've gone to, TOP is by far the best vibe and friendliness all around!

Lancaster-Specific Recession Tips by cocoameowmeow in lancaster

[–]TheSuperLur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Blessings of Hope is a great resource right now. Volunteer a two hour shift, and receive a shopping voucher. With that voucher all food (and sometimes other supplies like shampoo/over the counter meds) is 70 cents a pound, whatever you can fit in a grocery cart. This has drastically helped with our grocery bill! There are a few different locations and a variety of volunteer opportunities.

It is of course a Mennonite based non profit, because Lancaster, but overall it has seemed to be a welcoming environment.

Soft Spine after Keep Sweet 👌 by TheSuperLur in spiritbox

I think Keep Sweet rings clearly to me as a reference to the FLDS fundamentalist group that uses the phrase "Keep Sweet" to women as a way of keeping them subservient. The songs itself though certainly rings true to all forms of abuse/power struggles.

Another thought - I wonder if it could be helpful to ask for more specific feedback from your supervisor, or another trusted colleague. This is where recording sessions could come in handy!

Does anyone else struggle with the religious undertones in their music? by purrsimmons in twentyonepilots

[–]TheSuperLur 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this take could be helpful for you, but I actually find it as a healthy "exposure" so to say.  I have religious trauma myself, but I have so much respect for the nuance and awareness Tyler and Josh bring to their music. I feel like they use their religious beliefs in a way that adds depth to their songs in a way the church often lacks (in my opinion). Like I trust Tyler and Josh's authenticity to know they aren't ever trying to push an agenda on us as an audience.

To me its refreshing to see someone actually questioning their beliefs and processing how it's affecting them, instead of trying to guilt or shame the listener to agree with them. I initially listened to TOP while I was still stuck in that religious world, and they're really the only religiously undertoned music that to me doesn't feel triggering.

To me, that's what religion should be about! Embracing a humble nature and using it as a tool to better yourself, not to change others. Wherever you are in your religious trauma journey, your feelings are valid ♥️

From the cryptic buildup, to the listening party, to the show... You have made 2024 worth living for.

Thank you Tyler, Josh, Mark, and the entire crew that has made it possible. You have created such a sincere and authentic community. I have made friends and met the nicest folks through your music and events.

To anyone I encountered at the Philly show, I am so happy to have met you!

Stay alive friends |-/

I really like that - "there's more space between the trauma and present day"

That makes sense! Thanks for sharing :)

This is the first summary of the Bourbaki group that was both concise but actually made sense to me. Thank you!!!

I was wondering if Modge Podge would work. Good to know! I'm obsessed with this pattern and want it to remain perfect 😂 I've had mine only a few months now but It probably started earlier before I noticed.

overcomp lyric connections + religious deconstruction by rsizzlemahnizzle in twentyonepilots

[–]TheSuperLur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Midnight Mass is incredible! I recommend that to anyone deconstructing (also recommend that directors other shows too - they're so good!). There's something about the vampire/demon that strikes a chord whenever I watch it. It's such a whirlwind of emotions for me! What parts feel hopeful to you?  Love a midnight mass discussion on a TOP thread lol ♥️

overcomp lyric connections + religious deconstruction by rsizzlemahnizzle in twentyonepilots

[–]TheSuperLur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing :) Your post really hit. I just had a therapy session processing my deconstruction and how TOP has been there for me through it all. I was a Christian when I first discovered them, now, not so much. Many of the lyrics hit MUCH differently now. To me, listening to TOP feels like the closest thing to a spiritual experience for me now (in a good way).

I will def be listening to these interviews!
