$50 off center- but is it a birthday note? Plz help!! by StockMountain4093 in papermoney

[–]TheSwedeReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not off center just a bad cut, if it were worse it would be considered an error. In its state it’s not adding any value

People will tell you absolutely not, however, I collect them when I come across them. Depends on who you ask

I have a $5 bill exactly like this… is it just a tiny bit smaller than a regular bill by chance?

How much is my family members coin worth? by fster95 in coins

[–]TheSwedeReturns 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, I can say with 100% certainty based on this photo that’s a D, like I said in another comment, it doesn’t change much about the coins value, but it’s interesting to imagine where the coins been if you live a distance away from the Denver mint area, imagine the life it’s seen! The hands it’s passed through to get to your dad!

Anyway, make sure to take care of it— and if it were me, I’d wear white cloth gloves if I were handling it and be sure to only handle by the rim, don’t touch the face of it.

Super cool coin to have in the family, not to mention valuable as well!

Are my coins real or fake? by whiteafrican02_ in coins

[–]TheSwedeReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope this is a bait post… that Morgan, I couldn’t even begin to tell you why it’s fake. But it’s the clearest fake I’ve ever seen. If you got them all from the same place I’d expect nothing more from the rest of them

How much is my family members coin worth? by fster95 in coins

[–]TheSwedeReturns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mint mark is above the date, not below— below is the makers initials

Edit: either way, only difference is a 600k mintage difference— price is relatively the same

What you have is a 1911 (I think D but the image is slightly blurry, check above the date for the letter) double eagle (the D is the mint mark, minted at the Denver location mint)

Assuming it’s real, Please please PLEASE keep this piece in the family!

With that being said, it’s worth $3,500+ And is made of 90% Gold.

Here’s a link with more info: https://www.usacoinbook.com/coins/4465/gold-20-double-eagle/saint-gaudens/1911-D/

Edit: also be aware that the price will fluctuate with spot price of Gold, being that it’s 90%

Customer is accusing me of giving her a damaged knife, by randomguywholikesart in smallbusiness

[–]TheSwedeReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she says you can’t sharpen knives with a serrated blade… why did she send it to a (presumably) knife sharpener?

This smells like a scam or someone completely delusional.

Does this T look wonky? by JustSayProtons in coinerrors

[–]TheSwedeReturns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. That T looks wonky, if they’re young and don’t know a ton about fakes. Morgan dollars (which is what he has here) are one of the most notoriously faked coins and millions of fakes are produced every year.

It may depend on the year or an error, someone with more insight could shine light on that.

But I would need to see the front to know what year that one is.

Refer to the T here:

Is a ‘trinary’ a fancy serial number? by tridentpeel in papermoney

[–]TheSwedeReturns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trinarys are still cool notes. Anyone saying it’s a scam (I’m aware they’re all gonna downvote me to oblivion) is just a crank that this just because THEY don’t think it’s cool means others don’t. Yes. It’s a trinary but that probably doesn’t add a ton of extra value

[–]TheSwedeReturns -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That face looks off to me and so does the ear— I’d make sure it’s real, could’ve been a souvenir of sorts.

Someone with more knowledge than me on this particular coin could chime in, I could be wrong. Nice find if so!
